Song of Songs

I am emotional while having a quiet time with God awhile ago. Maybe because I’m reading the book of Song of Songs of King Solomon and we all know that this book is all about courtship to consummation of young man and a young woman. Let me share you these scriptures. Scriptures are written in New Living Translation.

1 You are beautiful, my darling,
beautiful beyond words.
Your eyes are like doves
behind your veil.
Your hair falls in waves,
like a flock of goats
winding down the slopes of Gilead.
2 Your teeth are as white as sheep,
recently shorn and freshly washed.
Your smile is flawless,
each tooth matched with its twin.
3 Your lips are like scarlet ribbon;
your mouth is inviting.
Your cheeks are like rosy pomegranates
behind your veil.
4 Your neck is as beautiful as the tower of David,
jeweled with the shields of a thousand heroes.
5 Your breasts are like two fawns,
twin fawns of a gazelle grazing among the lilies.
6 Before the dawn breezes blow
and the night shadows flee,
I will hurry to the mountain of myrrh
and to the hill of frankincense.
7 You are altogether beautiful, my darling,
beautiful in every way
8 Come with me from Lebanon, my bride,
come with me from Lebanon.
Come down from Mount Amana,
from the peaks of Senir and Hermon,
where the lions have their dens
and leopards live among the hills.
9 You have captured my heart,
my treasure, my bride.
You hold it hostage with one glance of your eyes,
with a single jewel of your necklace.
10 Your love delights me,
my treasure, my bride.
Your love is better than wine,
your perfume more fragrant than spices.
11 Your lips are as sweet as nectar, my bride.
Honey and milk are under your tongue.
Your clothes are scented
like the cedars of Lebanon.
12 You are my private garden, my treasure, my bride,
a secluded spring, a hidden fountain.
13 Your thighs shelter a paradise of pomegranates
with rare spices—henna with nard,
14 nard and saffron,
fragrant calamus and cinnamon,
with all the trees of frankincense, myrrh, and aloes,
and every other lovely spice.
15 You are a garden fountain,
a well of fresh water
streaming down from Lebanon’s mountains.
(Song of Songs 4:1-15)

Aside from the scriptures above, let me share you the scripture that made me cry so hard.

16 My lover is mine, and I am his.
He browses among the lilies.
17 Before the dawn breezes blow
and the night shadows flee,
return to me, my love, like a gazelle
or a young stag on the rugged mountains.
(Song of Songs 4:16-17)

Let’s pray.

Dear Daddy God,

Thank you for the best partner in life you reserved for me. I know He is responsible, kindhearted, full of wisdom and understanding, patient, a respectful and loving partner, a disciplinary with love Father to our children, he came from a complete and happy family, who loves and serves you with all his heart, mind, soul and strength. I love you, Dad! In Jesus’ name, Amen!

A Wife of Noble Character

Here are some photos of my niece, Ayanna Janelle Samson Jimenez. She’s too shy to have pictures. LOL!

Train up a child in the way he should go,
Even when he is old he will not depart from it. - Proverbs 22:6

A Wife of Noble Character

10 [b]Who can find a virtuous and capable wife?
She is more precious than rubies.
11 Her husband can trust her,
and she will greatly enrich his life.
12 She brings him good, not harm,
all the days of her life.

13 She finds wool and flax
      and busily spins it.
 14 She is like a merchant’s ship,
      bringing her food from afar.
15 She gets up before dawn to prepare breakfast for her household
and plan the day’s work for her servant girls.

 16 She goes to inspect a field and buys it;
with her earnings she plants a vineyard.
17 She is energetic and strong,
      a hard worker.
 18 She makes sure her dealings are profitable;
her lamp burns late into the night.

19 Her hands are busy spinning thread,
      her fingers twisting fiber.
20 She extends a helping hand to the poor
and opens her arms to the needy.
21 She has no fear of winter for her household,
      for everyone has warm[c] clothes.

22 She makes her own bedspreads.
She dresses in fine linen and purple gowns.
23 Her husband is well known at the city gates,
where he sits with the other civic leaders.
24 She makes belted linen garments
and sashes to sell to the merchants.

25 She is clothed with strength and dignity,
and she laughs without fear of the future.
26 When she speaks, her words are wise,
and she gives instructions with kindness.
27 She carefully watches everything in her household
      and suffers nothing from laziness.

28 Her children stand and bless her.
      Her husband praises her:
29 “There are many virtuous and capable women in the world,
      but you surpass them all!”

 30 Charm is deceptive, and beauty does not last;
but a woman who fears the Lord will be greatly praised.
31 Reward her for all she has done.
Let her deeds publicly declare her praise.
(Proverbs 31:10-31, NLT)

If I prayed to God to have a 5 working days work before, of course, I also prayed to have a complete and happy family who loves and serves God with all our heart, mind, soul and strength. I pray that God will give me enough wisdom, understanding, patience and strength to be a loving partner and mother to my future family.

Let’s pray,

Dear Daddy God,

Thank you for my future family who loves and serves you with all our heart, mind, soul and strength. I know that you reserved a best partner in life for me and I only have to wait for your perfect timing for us to meet. I love you, Dad. In Jesus’ name, Amen!

God's Perfect Timing

One week of work is over! Reports. Minutes of meeting. Sorting. Encoding. Filing. Phone Calles. QOD. E-mails. Issues. Boss. Co-associates. Whew! Despite of all of these, I’m still grateful to out Father Almighty for giving me the opportunity to work in a government agency like DTI.

When I’m still in college, I always pray to God to give me a 5-working days of work. That is why when I graduated, I took a Civil Service Professional Exam but unfortunately I did not pass my first attempt. Honestly, I lose hope when I found out that I did not pass. I tried to applied a job in a bank (well, we all know banks are also 5 working days operation) and I got it but I quit because of some reasons.

One day in February 2009, Taan asked for my resume (she is currently working in DTI as RD’s secretary then) and without hesitation, I gave her a copy of my Resume, TOR and Diploma. One week later, I got a call from their office for an exam. After taking the exam, they informed me about the schedule of the interview, panel interview with the PSB and then one-on-one interview with the Asst. Regional Director.

After two to three weeks of waiting for the results, I dreamt of already working in the agency and I know that’s Gods way telling me that I have nothing to worry about because He already reserved the item for me. (They say a dream is my spiritual gift and I want to improve it more). Yes, I got the item and even promoted as a Project Development Officer I after 3 months. Now, I’m waiting for my appointment as a regular employee. Of course, I took the Sub-Pro and Professional Civil Service Exam and guess what? Through God’s grace and favor and through declarations and prayers of the people around me, I passed the two exams.

God really knows our dreams and desires of our hearts. He has His own way on how to bring them come to pass. We only have to be patient and we only have to trust His perfect timing.

♥ ♥ ♥ ♥ ♥

I had a wonderful night last night. I attended the Yeshua Gathering with my friends at UMC Central. Before the start of the message of their guest pastor, I asked God to teach me on how to pray (intense praying/prayers with breakthrough/prayers na abot hanggang langit). He start his message with love thingy, I told myself, oh no! LOL! But the real message is all about praying. (Title of the message is: “Lord, teach us how to pray”) Wow, right? God answered my prayer through the message of the guest pastor.

The pastor discusses the ways to pray in 5 parts. (Luke 11:2-4, NIV)
1. Worship (Father, hallowed be your name)
    -  Be humble, humble yourself before the Lord
    - Sometimes we forget this right? We forget to give him what he deserved.

2. Witness (Your Kingdom Come)
   -  Ask for burden for the lost.
   - Of course, we also have to pray for the salvation of our loved ones.

“PUSH - Push Until Something/Salvation Happen”

3. Daily Needs (Give us each day our daily bread)
   - You have not because you ask not
   - Though our Father Almighty already knows our needs
before we are going to ask him, we still have to tell Him the things we need.
(Darby: Lord, IPAD2. G: Lord, house and lot, brand new car and my business! LOL!)

4. Confession (Forgive us our sin)
   - If we say that we have not sinned, you make a liar out of God
   - We are all sinners. There's nothing to boat to God.

5. Victory (Lead us not into temptation)
   -  Put on the full armor of God
   - We need the guidance of the Holy Spirit for us not to sin

Let’s pray.

Dear Daddy God,

Thank you, Dad for teaching me on how to pray with breakthrough. I’m sorry Dad that sometimes I’m losing my hope to the things I’m asking you and sometimes I forgot your perfect timing but you only showed me how faithful and gracious you are in my life. I love you, Dad. In Jesus’ name, Amen!

Wednesday!

Note:This supposed to be a post yesterday.

I’m so excited for this day to come! Why?

First, Prayer Works! This is the second time I’ll be attending a Prayer Works with my cousin, Anjo. Last week, I didn’t wake up in my phone’s alarm but today I woke up earlier than my alarm clock! Grace!

Pastor Jerry’s message is about the Holy Spirit and Praying. He says, “To be poor in Spirit is a state in the heart when you are humble and God wants us to have an intense prayer life because through prayers God will do miracles in our lives.”

Blessed are the poor in spirit, for theirs is the kingdom of heaven.”
(Matthew 5:3, NIV)

Our prayers should be consistent and persistent. Sometimes I’m thinking of, “Baka nagsasawa or nakukulitan na si God sa mga paulit-ulit kong mga prayers”. But today, I’ve learned that I should be more “pushy” in my prayers if I want them to happen.

“5 Then, teaching them more about prayer, he used this story:
“Suppose you went to a friend’s house at midnight,
wanting to borrow three loaves of bread. You say to him,
6 ‘A friend of mine has just arrived for a visit,
and I have nothing for him to eat.’ 7 And suppose he calls out from his bedroom,
‘Don’t bother me. The door is locked for the night, and my family and I are all in bed.
I can’t help you.’ 8 But I tell you this—though he won’t do it for friendship’s sake,
if you keep knocking long enough, he will get up and give you whatever you need
because of your shameless PERSISTENCE. 9 “And so I tell you,
keep on asking, and you will receive what you ask for.
Keep on seeking, and you will find. Keep on knocking,
and the door will be opened to you. 10 For everyone who asks, receives.
Everyone who seeks, finds. And to everyone who knocks, the door will be opened.”
(Luke 11:5-10, NLT)

Second, Life Group! It’s my first time to attend a life group with the catalyst. I’m nervous and excited at the same time.

I went to the church before 7:30PM and I saw Ptr. Ru and his disciples having their life group in front of the entrance. As an early bird, I waited up for my co-life group to come. The first two people I met are Tina and Krisette. I introduced myself to them and we had a little chitchat about our professions.

Finally, our LG Leader and other co-life group arrived at the church. Jeng Tayag, our LG leader introduced me to the body and we had our dinner. After having our dinner, we played an icebreaker, 7 up! I know you are familiar to this game but we made a twist, instead of 7 up, we changed it into 3 up! LOL!

After playing an icebreaker, we welcome and acknowledge the presence of God and the Holy Spirit. We humbled ourselves through praying and God has many revelations for us that evening. Of course, we also have praise reports and word (gospel). Because the season today is season of miracles, we talked about miracles. First, Believe in Miracles. Second, Expect the Miracle. And third, Receive the Miracle.

“If my people, who are called by my name,
will humble themselves and pray and seek my face
and turn from their wicked ways,
then I will hear from heaven,
and I will forgive their sin and will heal their land.”
(2 Chronicles 7:14, NIV)

This is the first time I met these ladies (Jeng, Cristi, Tina, Krisette, Rems and the other 2) but as if I’ve known them for a long time already. Like what I’ve said to Darby, maybe our spirits introduced their selves to one another. LOL!

♥ ♥ ♥ ♥ ♥

Last week, Ate Joan called a “sisterly love meeting” dated today but I told her that I can’t go with them due to my commitments with God. I know she get upset to what I told her but I know they will understand my reasons in the future. God will make them understand.

Let’s pray.

Dear Daddy God,

Thank you for this great day with you! I believe that I still have to learn many things to have a deeper relationship with you and I believe that you are going to use my new connections for that. Father, if I upset my friends for not meeting them today, I know that you are going to turn the situation around and use it for my own advantage. I pray that they will see a “change” in me through your grace so that I won’t need to invite them to attend a service but they themselves will accompany me. In Jesus’ name, Amen!

Highlights

After encoding the Export Declarations of Ate Rowi, Ate Grace told me to do the TPOs Highlights and I’m hesitant to do it. Honestly, I’m not a good writer. As you can see, I’m still practicing my writing that is why I’m asking for your opinions and comments cause I know I have to practice more and I’m open to any advices and suggestions to improve it.

Anyway, enough of my self pity attitude there. Hehehe! Ate Grace trusted me that I can do it so I started writing the draft of the Highlights. Good thing I have my notes and I asked D about what he reported during the meeting. And of course, I also asked Ate Rowi for the pax of National OTOP, Ate Grace for the updated pax and number of booths of LCL2011 and even Ate Vina to translate other sentences for me. I’m resourceful, right? That’s one of my gifts. LOL!

My day wouldn’t be complete if my bosses won’t ask anything from me. *Smiles* DC Ning asked me about my Consolidated Branding Report and she corrects some discrepancies especially in Bulacan. They have many discrepancies and adjustments to make. Whew! Tadigs seek help to me in the presentation she is doing because DC Ning will need it during the MANCOM. I am blessed that I did not do any presentation materials for this upcoming Management Committee Meeting. I thank God because everything went well today.

♪♫ Like a fire shut up in my bones

Every part of me, make me new

The song above is my devotional song tonight. Well, I choose that song because of the rain pouring out on our roof and of course, I want to be saturated by God’s Holy Spirit. If you will just listen carefully to the message of the song, you will be moved.

Let’s pay.

Dear Daddy God,

Thank you for your faithfulness and goodness in my life. Thank you for the people you are using to encourage me and to you as my greatest encourager. Dad, continue to give me wisdom, understanding, patience and strength for me to be able to do my job as a DTI associate and as your loving princess. I love you, Dad. In Jesus’ name, Amen.

Easter Sunday

Yesterday (July 24, 2011, Sunday)

Ron and D invited their selves to attend our Sunday service which made me laugh. I usually invite my friends to attend our service but they always refusing my invitation. But these two invited their selves and I’m happy to accept their offer. I love to have a visitor in our church because I know there is no an accident why they are there. There is a purpose, indeed.

Based from my observation, they did enjoy the service (the Praise and Worship and the message). D also told me that He will going to do what Anjo did during the PAW. Anjo stopped the band to get the attention of the Church because we are singing “Nothing Impossible” by Planetshakers that time. Anjo asked us, “Do you understand what are you singing?” (See lyrics below) “If you do, why do you sing like that? Sing it with enthusiasm!” He is right, we should give the excellent praise and honor to God because He deserves it.

I'm not gonna live by what I see,
I'm not gonna live by what I see,
[Pre-Chorus:]
Deep down I,
Know that You're here with me
I know that You can do anything
[Chorus]
Through You,
I can do anything
I can do all things
For it's You who gives me strength
Nothing is impossible
Through You blind eyes are open
Strongholds are broken
I am living by faith
Nothing is impossible
[Bridge]
I believe, I believe
I believe, I believe in you

Here are some photos during and after the service. Credits to the owner (D).

Our Sunday did come for the 5 of us (Cang, Rachel, Ron and D). We attend the 3rd Family Gig at His Life City Church. I know God worked something in our lives. The message of Pastor William is about healing, miracles and faith. Well, I’ve been listening to healing and miracles messages for 2 Sundays now. Like what I’ve said to my post yesterday, He really knows what we need before we are going to ask Him.

After the gig, we took some photos at the backyard of the sanctuary (Backyard? I’m not sure on what term should I use here. Hahaha!). Again, credits to the owner (D).

G, Ron, D, Rachel and Cang after the Family Gig

Ron and D excused their selves because they still have businesses to attend to. Cang, Rachel and I have to stay because we still need to find Atche (Ptr. Erica) for my Life Group. But Ate Erica was hard to find and we ended up attending Ms. Rica Peralejo-Bonifacio’s talk. We are favored enough because we don’t have to buy tickets to enter the venue.

Ms. Rica Peralejo-Bonifacio talked about the “changed” that God did to her life. She admitted that she was mean to her co-artists (Mr. Dante, Piolo Pascual, Sam Milby and Sam’s manager) whey they are inviting her to attend a bible study. But one time, she was trapped to Sam’s invitation and she cannot do anything about it but to accept it. This is the time when God talked to her using the scripture below. Of course, change won’t happen in one day. There is a series of steps to fully be changed by the grace of God.

Just then a woman who had been subject to bleeding
for twelve years came up behind him and touched the edge of his cloak.
She said to herself, “If I only touch his cloak, I will be healed.”
Jesus turned and saw her. “Take heart, daughter,” he said
“your faith has healed you.”
And the woman was healed at that moment.” (Matthew 9:20-22, NIV)

After the talk, they call for an altar call. I don’t why I raised my hand which is so weird but when Rachel and I came to the front, something telling me to hug her which I did. Maybe God raised my hand to comfort Rachel that time and I felt good.

Finally, Cang and I had the chance to talk to Ate Erica. We told her that I am looking for a Life Group (for young professionals) and she introduced me to Ate Borj. Ate Borj asked me if I’m available every Wednesday and which company I’m working. I answered her, yes, I’m available every Wednesday and I’m working at DTI. Then we exchanged numbers.

Today (July 25, 2011, Monday)

I was about to watch Harry Potter 7.5 today but I can’t do it by myself pala. Hehe! What I did is I ride a jeep and put on my headset. While singing praises to God, I prayed to Him. Then God talked to me. He asked me to pray for my youngest sibling, Glecy, when I got home. I asked Him if He wants something to say to my sister. He told me this, “Tell her that I love her, I never forget her and I will never abandoned her. I have great things in store for her and her baby. I will provide everything they need.” I cried when I heard those words from God. When I got home, I called Glecy and we prayed. My voice was trembling but I continued what I’m assigned to do.

After we prayed, I hugged her so tight. I told her that I love her so much and I only want the best for her. Then she told me, “pinaiyak mo lang ako, Ate”.

I am super excited to my NEW WORLD with GOD, NEW DIVINE CONNECTION and NEW FIRE in my heart! Hallelujah!

Let’s pray.

Dear Daddy God,

Thank you for the new world and new divine connections I have. I know that these “new” in my life will help me to keep the fire burning in my heart and help me to grow spiritually. I’m asking your Holy Spirit to continue to fill my cup and let it overflow. I want to seek you and love you more, Dad. In Jesus’ name, Amen!

Mind Binding Spirit

I woke up this morning with negative thoughts rushing inside my head. They are telling me things that aren’t good, of course negative things. Those thoughts made my heart palpitate more and some of the thoughts telling me that the things I’m thinking (right now) are just made up because those are the things I want to believe. I talked to the Holy Spirit; I asked for his help and guidance that these thoughts will leave me. The devil ruined my sleep but I won’t let him ruin my day!

I get my new book. When I opened it, it’s in Chapter 6 entitled Mind-Binding Spirit. Whew! God is good, indeed. He knows what I need before I’m going to ask him. I did what I red in the first page. I bind the spirits of fear, mediocrity, inferiority, discouragement, cursing and lustful thoughts. I told the devil that I am loved, valued, champion, victorious, more than a conqueror, God has great things in store for me, and I am child of the Most High God. After praying, I told myself “the truth will set me free”. When I flip the next page, that verse is in there. Hehehe!

“Then you will know the truth, and the truth will set you free.”
(John 8:32, NIV)

I believe this day is a great day! There is nothing to be worried about because God is working on the background and I know his Holy Spirit will be with me wherever I go.

Is there negative thoughts rushing in your head? Thoughts that telling you negative things like:

No one loves you?
God is telling you right now, “I love you with an everlasting love” – Jeremiah 31:33

No one cares for you?
God is telling you, “I care for you.” - 1 Peter 5:7

You feel weak and discouraged?
God is telling you, “Be strong and courageous!” – Joshua 1:9

No one doing good to you?
God is telling you, “I will never stop doing good to you.” – Jeremiah 32:40

Someone telling you that you are not good-looking, that you are a mistake.
God is telling you, “You were made in my image.” – Genesis 1:27 and “You were not a mistake, for all your days are written in my book.” – Psalm 139:15-16

There is nothing to worry about. Smile! It is all written in the book of life! I pray that these scriptures lifted your spirit.

Let’s pray.

Dear Daddy God,

Thank you for your Holy Spirit, for your word. Thank you for being the best, the greatest Father I ever have! I love you, Dad. In Jesus’ name, Amen!

For God’s gifts and his call are irrevocable. – Romans 11:29, NIV
