Love That's In Me

Yesterday, before I went downstairs to man the Quality Officer of the Day, I made my IPAS (Improved Performance Appraisal System) for the 2nd semester and my endorsement letter for another 6-month of service contract and forwarded it to my supervisor for their approval and signature.

After 6 hours of manning the QOD, I went back to my desk to check the documents I made this morning. When I saw the documents, there are little changes in my IPAS that I need to edit/change. What surprised me is when I saw my endorsement letter. My supervisor changes it into 1-month instead of 6-months of service contract. My initial reaction is “oh no!” I asked my co-associates if their supervisor also changed it into 1-month service contract. They told me that they did not. I began to panic. I texted my friends to pray for me in finding a new work if our office won’t renew me after 1-month.

On the other hand, my mind is telling me not to panic and to look on the brighter side. I told myself; maybe God is already pulling you out in your comfort zone that is why they change your contract to 1-month of service only. Of course, it’s not easy not to think negative thoughts. I’m struggling with the “What ifs” but I keep on encouraging myself with these scriptures.

And we know that God causes everything to work together for the good of those who love God and are called according to his purpose for them. – Romans 8:28, NLT

Trust in the LORD with all your heart; do not depend on your own understanding. – Proverbs 3:5, NLT

The lions may grow weak and hungry, but those who seek the LORD lack no good thing. – Psalm 34:10, NIV

I told myself, it’s all about trusting God. He’s been there. He has the master plan. He knows what he is doing. He is able.

+ + + + +

Aside to what happened to our office this afternoon; there is still something to be grateful about. I had the chance to bond with my childhood friends, Ate Cey and Taan. Ate Cey is the daughter of Pastor Paul of Bibleway. She and Kuya Kris (her husband) went home to have a Christian wedding here in our country though they already had their civil wedding in Qatar.

Ate Cey and I waited for Taan in our office. When she arrived, we went to our favorite fast food chain to eat dinner. Ate Cey began to talk about her married life. She told us that they had their civil wedding last March and they are still adjusting to their behavior, on how they talk, their likes and so on. She told us that they are totally opposite, he is sporty and she is kikay, etc.

We talked for more than 1-hour so we decided to go home because Taan and I still have work the next day. While having our chit-chat inside the jeep, Ate Duday and Hasse ride the jeep. I introduced the 4 ladies to one another. Then I asked Hasse if she has a video or an mp3 of her song, “Love That’s In Me”. She said yes and she sends it to me via Bluetooth.

Some of the lyrics of Hasse’s song, Love That’s In Me.

Chorus:
Now I’m found by you.
Now I’m safe with you
I’m never letting you go
Every heart will see
Light that shines in me
I’m never letting you go

Bridge:
I’ll shout to the earth, Hallelujah
Great is the love that’s in me
Fill on the earth, Hallelujah
Great is the love that’s in me
Now, I’ll shout to the earth, Hallelujah
Great is the love that’s in me
Fill on the earth, Hallelujah
Great is the love that’s in me

Let’s pray.

Dear Daddy God,

I choose to worship you. I choose to honor you. I choose to glorify your name. I choose to trust you. I know that you have the master plan of our lives and you know what you are doing. And Father, thank you for the love that’s in me and I’m never letting you go. I love you. In Jesus’ name. Amen!

Laguna Preaching

Last Sunday, our LG Leader was appointed to preach at His Life City Church, Biñan, Laguna. She appointed Tinay for the opening prayer, Mie for the welcoming, yours truly for the love offering and Krisette for the introducing of the preacher. This Laguna preaching is also a bonding moment for our group though Christi and Borj did not make it to come with us due to some commitment at family and work.

As we are heading to the Church at Laguna, Krisette lead the prayer for asking God’s protection and travelling mercy. We can feel the presence of our Almighty Father while Vinky is driving the car.

When we reached the place, they were surprised by the look of the new Church. (It’s my first to go here). They told us that the former church is just like a house but now it’s fully air-conditioned, it can accommodate 100 people and the equipments are now improved / upgraded.

Jeng exhorted the last week message entitled, “The Gift of Choice”. The church define “Choice” as one of the most important gift from God, some take this gift for granted and some do not know how to use its advantage. Our Pastor derived this message from the scripture in Deuteronomy 30:15-20, NLT.

15 “Now listen! Today I am giving you a choice between life and death, between prosperity and disaster. 16 For I command you this day to love the Lord your God and to keep his commands, decrees, and regulations by walking in his ways. If you do this, you will live and multiply, and the Lord your God will bless you and the land you are about to enter and occupy.
17 “But if your heart turns away and you refuse to listen, and if you are drawn away to serve and worship other gods, 18 then I warn you now that you will certainly be destroyed. You will not live a long, good life in the land you are crossing the Jordan to occupy.
19 “Today I have given you the choice between life and death, between blessings and curses. Now I call on heaven and earth to witness the choice you make. Oh, that you would choose life, so that you and your descendants might live! 20 You can make this choice by loving the Lord your God, obeying him, and committing yourself firmly to him. This[a] is the key to your life. And if you love and obey the Lord, you will live long in the land the Lord swore to give your ancestors Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob.”

Our Pastor also exhorts the quotations below that Jeng also shared during her preaching.

“What you are today is a byproduct of the choices you’ve made in the past.”

“What you will become in the future is a result of the choices you make today.”

Every single day we are confronted with a choice. A choice that will impact our future.”

There are 5 pointers for this message.

First, THOUGHTS. We can choose to worry and be sorry later or we can choose to trust God and be confident of the outcome later.

Second, WORDS. We have the power to choose our words, right or wrong.

Third, ACTIONS. We can be reactive or proactive.

Fourth, HABITS. Developing great habits is of utmost importance. They also say that it takes 21 days to develop a habit.

Lastly, CHARACTER. Choose character before reputation because reputation is what people think of you but character is what you really are. And a man’s best collateral is his character.

After the preaching, Jeng asked the people to raise their right hand to those who want to receive Jesus as their personal God and Savior. Then Tinay and I ushered the people to come in front. When Jeng is finished praying, she told us (Tinay and I) to lay hands the people who came in front. Suddenly, I can’t help myself but cry while laying my hands to them. Wanna know why? God told me, “Do you still remember it? You already do this when you are a child.” I nod my head, and then He told me again, “You will lay your hands to more people in the future”. Then Jeng saw me crying and she hugged me.

After the service, we went to Tita Julliet’s house to eat lunch and to have a little chit chat with her. Before we left, we prayed to God to bless her business and her ministry.

We leave HLCC, Laguna at exactly 1pm to catch the Third Celebration at HLCC, Pampanga and we are favored enough to come 1 hour before the last service. Wiiii! Praise God!

Let’s pray.

Dear Daddy God,

We thank you for the victorious day and for the travelling mercy that you have given to us. Father, it’s only by your grace why we are able to stand in front of your people. We also thank you for the privilege to bond with our life group, to Vinky and to our brothers and sisters in Laguna. We bring you back all the praises, glory and honor. In the most precious name of our Lord and Savior, Jesus. Amen!

Sleepover

Last Friday, Beth invited Krisette and I to have a sleepover in their place and to attend prayerworks the next day. Of course, this sleepover is not about chatting our personal lives only. We also chat about our Christian walks and our ministry to our Father.

Here are the pictures of our bonding moment.

A Time for Everything

A Time for Everything
Ecclesiastes 3:1-8, NLT

1 For everything there is a season,
a time for every activity under heaven.
2 A time to be born and a time to die.
A time to plant and a time to harvest.
3 A time to kill and a time to heal.
A time to tear down and a time to build up.
4 A time to cry and a time to laugh.
A time to grieve and a time to dance.
5 A time to scatter stones and a time to gather stones.
A time to embrace and a time to turn away.
6 A time to search and a time to quit searching.
A time to keep and a time to throw away.
7 A time to tear and a time to mend.
A time to be quiet and a time to speak.
8 A time to love and a time to hate.
A time for war and a time for peace.

Yes, there is a time for everything. A season for pruning. A season for planting. A season for harvesting. A season for plowing. But whatever our season is… let us keep and fix our eyes to Jesus because He will be with us no matter what season we are.

Let’s pray.

Dear Daddy God,

Father, we thank you that you are always here with us no matter what season we are. Thank you for guiding and leading us especially in our season of plowing and pruning. We love you. In Jesus’ name. AMEN!

Gift of Choice

We had our life group last Monday because our leader will be leaving our country today, Wednesday, for a Singapore Trip with her family.

Last week, Jeng assigned me to facilitate a quiz for the Book of John 1-5 and for our life group. I red and prepared a quiz for the said scope and also a reward for the person who will get a highest score. The group told me to move the quiz next week because some of them are not prepared rather they did not read the Book of John 1-5. But I insisted that it’s better to do it now rather than next week because there’s a possibility that I will eat the reward. Maybe you’re asking about the reward, the reward is a Kitkat Crunch.

After we checked the answer sheets, our leader got the highest score of 25/30 and she shared the reward to the group. Jeng told Mie to prepare a quiz next week for the Book of Acts 1-5. Then I started facilitating our life group. I started our discussion with this question, “Have you made a choice before that you are already reaping its reward today?”

Here are our answers to the question.

Mie: I choose to go with my boyfriend here at church. Through that I met and accept Jesus.

Sheng: same with Mie.

Remsy: Same with Mie. If Krisette quitted on me, I will not be here today.

Jeng: likewise

Me: well, we all have the same answer. We are all spiritual people here, huh!

Why did I ask that question? Because our topic would be the “Gift of Choice”. What is choice? Choice is one of the most important gifts from God. Some of us take this gift for granted and some do not know how to use its advantage.

Deuteronomy 30:15-20, NLT

Based from the scripture above, when God gives us a choice, He is calling the heaven and earth to witness the decision we will make. Wow! Powerful, huh!

In making a choice, you also need to consult God to guide and lead you in choosing the right for you. If you have done wrong choices before, the good news is, you can still change it by choosing the right today. Always remember, “What you will become in the future is a result of the choices you make today”.

The Test Paper

Let’s pray.

Almighty Father, we thank you for the Gift of Choice. Forgive us that sometimes we take for granted this gift and we do not know the advantage or use of this gift. As I always pray, give us wisdom, understanding and discernment in choosing the right choice for our life. We love you. In Jesus’ name. AMEN!

Poem: WAIT

I just read this poem from the book I’m reading right now. It was written by Russell Kelfer and included in his book Wait: A Journey to Discovering the Heart of God.

WAIT
by Russell Kelfer

Desperately, helplessly, longingly, I cried;
Quietly, patiently, lovingly, God replied.
I pled and I wept for a clue to my fate . . .
And the Master so gently said, "Wait."

"Wait? you say wait?" my indignant reply.
"Lord, I need answers, I need to know why!
Is your hand shortened? Or have you not heard?
By faith I have asked, and I'm claiming your Word.

"My future and all to which I relate
Hangs in the balance, and you tell me to wait?
I'm needing a 'yes', a go-ahead sign,
Or even a 'no' to which I can resign.

"You promised, dear Lord, that if we believe,
We need but to ask, and we shall receive.
And Lord I've been asking, and this is my cry:
I'm weary of asking! I need a reply."

Then quietly, softly, I learned of my fate,
As my Master replied again, "Wait."
So I slumped in my chair, defeated and taut,
And grumbled to God, "So, I'm waiting for what?"

He seemed then to kneel, and His eyes met with mine . . .
and He tenderly said, "I could give you a sign.
I could shake the heavens and darken the sun.
I could raise the dead and cause mountains to run.

"I could give all you seek and pleased you would be.
You'd have what you want, but you wouldn't know Me.
You'd not know the depth of my love for each saint.
You'd not know the power that I give to the faint.

"You'd not learn to see through clouds of despair;
You'd not learn to trust just by knowing I'm there.
You'd not know the joy of resting in Me
When darkness and silence are all you can see.

"You'd never experience the fullness of love
When the peace of My spirit descends like a dove.
You would know that I give, and I save, for a start,
But you'd not know the depth of the beat of My heart.

"The glow of my comfort late into the night,
The faith that I give when you walk without sight.
The depth that's beyond getting just what you ask
From an infinite God who makes what you have last.

"You'd never know, should your pain quickly flee,
What it means that My grace is sufficient for thee.
Yes, your dearest dreams overnight would come true,
But, oh, the loss, if you missed what I'm doing in you.

"So, be silent, my child, and in time you will see
That the greatest of gifts is to truly know me.
And though oft My answers seem terribly late,
My most precious answer of all is still . . . Wait."

Love Letters from my Life Group

Last night, I was about to receive loads of words of affirmation from my life group during our gathering. But instead of saying their words of affirmation to me, I asked them to write it on a piece of paper which I brought. My reason is that, I want to read their words of affirmation to me over and over again not just hearing it once. I called their work as a love letter.

I am surprised when I read their love letters to me. I never thought that they will say those words. awwww.. Sweet! As much as I want to share their love letters to all of you, I just want to keep it them privately. Hehe!

Tomorrow, I will still bring papers for Krisette and Beth because they are not with us during the life group. I’m expecting more love letters to read!

Here are the captured moments last night.

The Love Letters...

Let’s pray.

Dear Daddy God,

Almighty Father, thank you for extending your love through my life group. I am so blessed for the friendship and relationship that we have. Continue to shower our group with your love and grace. We love you. In Jesus’ mighty name. AMEN!

Much Awaited Day!

My 100th post! Wiiiii! Aside from that, this post is all about what happened to me today, November 15, 2011, Tuesday. Remember my schedule/plan that I posted yesterday? Well, here is the actual presentation. Hehehe!

5:00AM – 7:00AM – Prayer Works + Appointment with Pastor Jerry

I woke up at 3:30AM today to attend the prayer works with the Wildfire (youth ministry of our church). I’m supposed to be with Ate Erika but she didn’t stand up because she slept late last night.

When I arrived at the church, Pastor Jerry recognized me and told me, “I will bless you with a prayer later”. (That’s my appointment with him. He will bless me with a prayer! Excited!) Then I nod to him. Pastor Jerry, Kuya Francis, other wildfires and I went to the Kidz Life Tent for the prayer works. To our surprise, the exhorter did not appear. So, Pastor Jerry asked us about the works of our Almighty Father in our lives. Ruben, shared to us what happened last Youth Gig (I also witnessed it). He told us about the anointing and the work of the Holy Spirit last Saturday. The youth did not expect it but they receive their deliverance from their obsession such as lying, cheating, lust, etc.

Ruben led the prayer and we are told to pray in the spirit which we did. During our prayer, the Holy Spirit did something great to me. Pastor Jerry told me that our God has heard my petitions and “delight yourself in the Lord and He will give you the desires of your heart” (Psalm 37:4).I believe that He already gave the desires of my heart.

Pastor Jerry prophesied to me that God will give me the Spirit of Esther. Maybe you are asking, “Who is Esther?” Well, I encourage you to read the Book of Esther in the Old Testament or click the links below to have an idea about her. Aside from that, He also told me that I’m an intercessor and a woman of wisdom and encouragement. Wow! (In Jesus’name, I received!)

After the prophecy thingy, we still stay to hear more from him like his secrets, his fellowship, his ministry and how to be sensitive with the Holy Spirit. Then all of a sudden He stands up and told us, “Hindi pa ba kayo uuwi? / Aren’t you going home already?” The youth and I decided to leave but they prayed for me again before we left.

11:40 AM 12:00NN – Lunch Date with my Best Friend

Even before, Whey has always been an early bird when it comes to our dates. She arrived 20 minutes early. We met up at Robinson’s Department Store while she is buying some item for her classmate. I asked her where she wants to eat because we are only inside a mall near my work. Then we ended up eating at Mang Inasal.

We updated one another while we are waiting for our orders. She told me that she will be graduating next year (March 2012) and she has a lot of commitments in school nowadays, thesis and on-the-job training. Aside from that, she is having a little problem with her long distance boy friend.

I am confident that she can handle those commitments and little problem because she’s been through with those when we are still in high school and college.

My Best Friend, Whey...

Lunch Date at Mang Inasal, Nepo Mall

 8:00AM – 5:00PM – Work

Since I came from the prayer works, I arrived 7:58AM in our office today. I saw Kuya Allan, Kuya Bob and Christian having breakfast in our pantry. Out of the blue I told them, “Hindi niyo ba ako babatiin?” They all answered me in chorus, “birthday mo?” Hahaha!

Kuya Arman, Kuya Alex and Kuya Daboy bought me a Cheese Burger Meal as a birthday gift while Kuya Rod bought me a Hershey’s milk chocolate. Sweet!

With Lou.. We've been together since Coop Bank days

6:00PM – 7:40PM – Intercession with the Catalyst

The original plan for this is the appointment with Pastor Jerry but we already had our appointment during the prayer works. So, I decided to join the intercession with the catalyst. Again, our Almighty Father filled us with His Holy Spirit.

With Ida, Tin and my prayer partner, Krisette! Lovelove!

8:00 PM – onward – Bonding with my Siblings

Well, this item is not included in my schedule/plan today but I thank God that He adds this to my plan. I almost forgot my family. Sorry. I love you all and thank you for the effort! I appreciate it. Super!

With my sisters... Glecy and Gladys..
