Something Big Lyrics

Something Big
By: John Waller

I wanna see something I've not seen
Something so big
I wanna be a part of something great
Greater than me

It's time to dream big dreams
To see Your vision
Become reality
‘Cause it’s for You, by You, those who
Love You wanna do

Something so big
It’s destined to fail without You, Lord
It’s gonna fail without You, Lord
Something so great
It takes a miracle to do
We, Your children
Wanna do something big for You

We, yes, we are gonna sing a brand new song
Something so strong
We will be the sound that wakes the dawn
Something so loud

It’s time for breaking through
‘Cause there are no limits
For he who holds the truth
When it’s for You, and by You, and those who
Love You wanna do

Something bigger, something greater
For the glory of Your splendor
Something bigger, something greater
Tell the story of Your wondrous love
Your wondrous love
Those who love You wanna do

As long as we live, let us do something so big for You

Be Still, and know that He is God

Hello, guys! Missed me? Hehehe! It’s been almost 3 months since the last time I posted an entry. I’ll try to catch up with you, guys.

Anyway, we know that we only have less than two (2) months before the year 2012 ends, right? Maybe some of us here have already received their exceptional harvest and some are still waiting for theirs to come. Like you, I’m still waiting for mine though most of  them were are already given by our Heavenly Father.

To those who are still waiting for their exceptional harvest, I would like to remind and encourage you from this passage. God says in Psalm 46:10, “Be still, and know that I am God!”

God wants us to remain calm and patient in waiting for our exceptional harvest and He also wants us to know that He is God. Amen?

Now, I have a question, when we say “God” what comes to your mind? Father of Jesus Christ? Creator of Heaven and Earth? And etc. Sometimes, we limit God on how we know Him. Right? Don’t worry, I’m also like that. I also have a little knowledge about Him. While I’m surfing the net about the other names and characteristics of our Almighty God, I am amazed with the results. I pray that His names may give you revelation of who He really is.

As we wait for our exceptional harvest before the year ends, let us hold on and depend to our God. All He wants us to do is to “Be still, and know that He is God”.

Let’s pray.

Heavenly Father, you are more than enough to us and your presence is already an exceptional harvest for those who seek you. As the year ends, we hold on and we put our expectations only to you because we know that you are more than able to do exceedingly abundantly above all that we could ask or think and the best is yet to come. Thank you. In Jesus’ name. Amen!

My Prayer

November 1, 2012

My prayer when I’m encouraging myself:

Heavenly Father, I know that you know what you are doing and you already planned out everything for my life. Though I do not see anything that is happening around me, I believe that you are working on my background. Remember, Dad that you promised me a rich and satisfying life and you will not leave me until you have finished giving me everything you have promised me. Thank you and I love you. In Jesus’ name. Amen!

Highly Favored by the Most High

Last night, while my boyfriend and I have this usual conversation, I told him that I’m not a teacher’s favorite or a teacher’s pet when I was studying. If my teacher has a favorite student, it would always be my friend. Now that I’m already working, it’s also the same.

When I went to bed to sleep, God spoke to me. He said, “Even though you are not crowd’s favorite, you are highly favored by the Most High God.”

I was stunned to this truth. Do you know what does it mean? If God’s favor is with you, the people around you can’t help their selves not to help you. What’s more? We know how fickle minded the people are—today they like us, tomorrow they hate us—but our God is not like that, He fulfills what He promises.

If you feel that you are the least favorite of the people around you and it seem it’s impossible for them to help you, always remember that you are highly favored by the Most High God.

My Little Rebuker

She just turned 3 last August 7...

I had a funny yet rebuking moment with my niece two nights ago. I was about to have my devotion or quiet time with God when it happened.

I entered our room knowing that no one was there but when I turned on the light, my niece is on the bed. I grabbed my devotional book (Daily Bread), my bible, my journal and pouch and headed in my place. Little did I know that the little one is observing me. I prayed a very very short prayer and started reading my bible. Then, I heard her saying…

Ayelle: tita, pray ka muna bago ka mag-basa. (Aunt, pray before you read)
Me: nag-pray na ako (I prayed already)
Ayelle: wala man akong narinig (I did not hear anything)
***I assumed that she wants me to hear praying in tongues because she’s used to hear me pray in that language
Me: nag-pray na ako. Eh ikaw, nag-pray ka na? (I prayed already. How about you?)
Ayelle: may ilaw eh… (there’s a light)
Me: pikit mo mga mata mo at pray ka na (close your eyes then pray)
***Her mom turned the lights off and she started praying.

Sometimes, God uses small people to talk to us and to convict us. To tell you the truth, this is not the first time it happened. She always rebukes all of us. I believe that God will use my niece mightily and powerfully in the future because He’s already using her to rebuke us.

***My niece is also my prayer partner and intercessor. If I want something, I will ask her to pray for me. *wink*

It's UP to US!

While I’m washing the dishes last night, I heard my cousin telling his disciples about the scripture in John 10:27, “My sheep listen to my voice; I know them, and they follow me.” I want to butt in to their conversation but I know the Holy Spirit wants me to learn something from that scripture.

We know that human beings think too much and we hear a lot of voices in our head. Some of the voices and thoughts are not from God. Then if we are His sheep and we know His voice, why are we still doing the things that hurt God most? The answer is because of our “freewill”. He gave us freewill to do the things we want to do even though He knows that He will get hurt from the outcome of our decision.

Now, it’s up to us on which voice we will obey. I pray that the Holy Spirit will give us wisdom and discernment when making a decision so that we won’t blame God and ourselves on the outcome.

Grafted to God's Vine

We know that grafting or graft is a common term in planting. Grafting is a horticultural technique whereby tissues from one plant are inserted into those of another so that the two sets of vascular tissues may join together.

Did you know that we are also grafted in God’s branch? Let us read the scripture below:

17 But some of these branches from Abraham’s tree—some of the people of Israel—have been broken off. And you Gentiles, who were branches from a wild olive tree, have been grafted in. So now you also receive the blessing God has promised Abraham and his children, sharing in the rich nourishment from the root of God’s special olive tree. 18 But you must not brag about being grafted in to replace the branches that were broken off. You are just a branch, not the root. 19 “Well,” you may say, “those branches were broken off to make room for me.”20 Yes, but remember—those branches were broken off because they didn’t believe in Christ, and you are there because you do believe. So don’t think highly of yourself, but fear what could happen. 21 For if God did not spare the original branches, he won’t spare you either.
(Romans 11:17-21, NLT)

We are grafted in replace of the original branches which are the Jews. Though we are grafted as a replacement, we are favored and blessed to experience the same blessing, favor and grace that the vine has. But of course, as a grafted branch, we don’t have anything to boast about to the vine and to the grafter. If the grafter has the guts to cut-off the original branch, he can also do that to us.

Now, all we have to do is to enjoy being grafted to the vine. As a grafted branch, we must also do the things we have to do and that is sharing the good news and winning souls for Him for us to be more fruitful.

The Importance of Social Media During Natural Disasters by Sette Capati

The Importance of Social Media During Natural Disasters

by Sette Capati
I saw the potentials of web 2.0 tools such as blogging and social media during natural disasters in Philippines. I saw the enthusiasm of Filipino citizens who want to help the authorities and rescuers in various places from North to South Luzon. The internet made the world smaller and accessible.
See my vantage point from the heart of Luzon.
Yesterday, I woke up early around 6AM and found myself staring blankly outside my window. It was still raining. The weather was inviting so I went back to sleep and woke up again around 12NN. It was still raining.
It's time to get up. I realized the situation was getting serious. I turned the Wi-Fi and rolled out my laptop, iPod and phone. I read some Twitter updates about "habagat." "The rain with no name." It wasn't a typhoon, but the relentless heavy rains caused so much trouble in my country. (And my original plan was to sit back, relax and drink my hot coffee as I zap the keys for late-afternoon work.)

I saw my fellow bloggers' tweets and RT's. It's getting serious and I really want to help. One thing I learned about social media and blogging on The 8th Philippine Blogging Summit is this:"Bloggers are citizens." Tonyo Cruz discussed social media and social change, and I agree that it can make an impact in our nation.
Pampanga heavy rains flash floods
The torrential monsoon rains have caused flash floods, deadly landscapes, waist and neck-deep water in various provinces and Metro Manila.
City of San Fernando flash floods
Communication is much easier when we use social media as a medium during natural disasters. Participating in tweet updates and re-tweets can help authorities and rescuers acquire real-time situations in various places. Rescue operations will be faster while the information spreads like wildfire amidst the heavy rains. Other residents also uploaded photos on Facebook and shared their thoughts, encouragement to friends and loved ones.
San Fernando flash floods
To keep it light and easy, (I'll avoid technical terms), I'll introduce you to my friend on Twitter.  The #hashtag
Here's what happens when users tweet with #hashtag:
#ReliefPH and #RescuePH
  • It organizes information for rescue operations. To include full name, number and address
Hagupit-ng-Habagat-RescuePH-hashtag
  •  It provides information where to drop donations and how-to's
Hagupit-ng-Habagat-RescuePH-donations
You see, hashtag is very important. It's the number one friend of any internet marketer, promoter and serves as "smoke signal" during natural disasters. Authorities and rescuers can read these hash tags anytime.
To get information during natural disasters, use the official Philippine government hashtag#PHalerts

Harness the power of Twitter and use #PrayForThePhilippines to encourage fellow Filipinos locall and abroad. Tweet what's happening in our country and tap the power of Twitter trends.
Prayers and encouragements from celebrities and friends all over the world:

Let's maximize what we have. A lot of internet users still don't know how to leverage the power of social media, and as citizens it's time to educate and inform everyone. Let's unite and help in all possible ways. Facebook and Twitter were not designed for posting your daily conundrums.

Love Offering Exhortation 3

It's my third time to exhort for a Love Offering during a Sunday Celebration. Before the celebration, I kept praying to our Heavenly Father to give me wisdom and confidence to exhort in front of His people. I know that apart from Him I am nothing or I cannot do anything.

Here is the word that I exhorted yesterday:

31 He told them another parable: “The kingdom of heaven is like a mustard seed, which a man took and planted in his field. 32 Though it is the smallest of all seeds, yet when it grows, it is the largest of garden plants and becomes a tree, so that the birds come and perch in its branches.”
(Matthew 13:31-32, NIV)

The revelation of the word...

Our tithes and love offering are seeds that we planted in the kingdom of God. Like mustard seed, it may only a tiny portion or 10% of our income but when we entrusted them to our Heavenly Father they will grow. When they grow, they will become trees. When they become trees, they will produce exceptional fruits. And these fruits may be in the form of blessing, favor, provision and protection to and to the people around us.

Let’s pray.

Dear Heavenly Father,

You are Jehovah Jireh! Every good gift that we receive comes from you. We thank you for all the seeds that you entrusted to us. As we bring back the seeds to you, we believe that you will bless us more. Father, bless each heart that who will give today. We love you. In Jesus’ name. Amen!

Do It Again

We’re in the 2nd half of this year but I believe God is not done yet. Whatever God did in the 1st half, He can do it again and even greater. Remember, He is able. Just simply and only BELIEVE! The best has yet to come.

Promise #167

Another confirmation!!!! #Pambihira

Ephesians 3:20 WEB
Now to him who is able to do exceedingly abundantly
above all that we ask or think, according to the power that works in us,

Promise #167: I am able to do more for you than you could possibly imagine.

After you read this promise, take a moment and try to imagine the biggest, out-of-the-box thing that you could possibly think of for your life. No matter how big you think, God's plans for you are way bigger! The NLT Bible translates the bigness of God's plans as 'infinitely more' and the NASB Bible says 'abundantly beyond'

No matter what version of the Bible you choose to read this Scripture in, God is able to do way more for us than we will ever be able to comprehend according to His incredible power that is at work in us...right now! When I think that the same Spirit that raised Jesus from the dead lives in me and how that power is greater than any other power in the universe, it simply amazes me!

Unfortunately many of us limit the power of the Holy Spirit in our lives by what we have experienced thus far. If we haven't seen too many miracles around us, we don't expect to live a miraculous life. It is my prayer that the Holy Spirit will give us the power to take off all of the limitations that we have placed around ourselves so that our Papa can show us the incredible bigness of His plan and purpose for our lives.
May each one of us open our hearts and minds to things that are exceedingly abundantly beyond what we could ever dare to ask for. Are you willing to ask God for a revelation of His great power that is already at work in you?

Batch Pambihira Graduation

The C101 & D201 Trainings has come to an end. The trainees reap the fruit of their labor last night during the graduation.

Our Senior Pastor gave us 3 instructions during the ceremony. These instructions are shallow yet they are profound.

First, Godly Training.

Do not waste time arguing over godless ideas and old wives’ tales. Instead, train yourself to be godly.“Physical training is good, but training for godliness is much better, promising benefits in this life and in the life to come.” (1 Timothy 4:7-8, NLT)

Second, Fan Into Flames.

This is why I remind you to fan into flames the spiritual gift God gave you when I laid my hands on you. For God has not given us a spirit of fear and timidity, but of power, love, and self-discipline. (2 Timothy 1:6-7, NLT)

Lastly, Preach the word.

Preach the word of God. Be prepared, whether the time is favorable or not. Patiently correct, rebuke, and encourage your people with good teaching. (2 Timothy 4:2, NLT)

Here are some of the pictures of the graduation.

A Daddy Who Loves Me

A Daddy Who Loves Me
Sharon Jaynes

Today's Truth
"I will be a Father to you, and you will be my sons and daughters," (2 Corinthians 6:18 NIV).

Friend to Friend
One of my favorite retreat topics is from my book, 5 Dreams of Every Woman...and How God Longs to Fulfill Them. In this book I talk about five dreams every little girl has: to have a daddy who loves her, to be a bride, to be a mommy, to be beautiful, and to have a best friend. For most of us, we get to a point in our lives and realize life has not turned out the way we thought they would, especially in those 5 areas. But the good news is, God has a wonderful plan for you!

In talking to women all across the country, I have seen eyes fill with tears when I talk about the dream of having a daddy who loves me. But the tears are not for me, they reveal the longing in their own hearts. Butterfly Kisses is a song by Bob Carlisle that climbed the charts in 2000. It received international recognition in both the Christian and Secular music industries. The song was about the tender love between a father and his daughter, starting from her birth to her wedding day. Mr. Carlisle said, "I get a lot of mail from young girls who try to get me to marry their moms. That used to be a real chuckle because it's so cute, but then I realized they didn't want romance for mom. They want the father like the one that is in that song, and that just kills me."

In the Old Testament, God has many names.  He is Elohim – the Creator, El Elyon – God Most High, El Roi – the God who sees, El Shaddai – the All-Sufficient One, Adonai – the Lord, Jehovah – the Self-Existent One, Jehovah-Jireh –the Lord Will Provide, Jehovah – Rapha – the Lord who heals, Jehovah—Shalom – the Lord is peace, Jehovah-Raah – the Lord my Shepherd, and many more.  His covenant name with the people of Israel was I AM. J.I. Packer, in his book, Knowing God, said, "He is: and it is because He is what He is that everything else is as it is."

In the New Testament, Jesus introduced a new name for God – Father. It is the name that Jesus referred to more than any other and the name that He invites us to use to address the Creator of the Universe. Just stop and think about that for a moment. The God of the universe who created the heavens and the earth, who always has been and always will be, who is all-knowing, all-powerful, and present everywhere at once – that same God invites you to call Him - Daddy!
When the disciples asked Jesus to teach them how to pray, He said:
But when you pray, go into your room, close the door and pray to your Father, who is unseen. Then your Father, who sees what is done in secret, will reward you. And when you pray, do not keep on babbling like pagans, for they think they will be heard because of their many words. Do not be like them, for your Father knows what you need before you ask him. This, then, is how you should pray: 'Our Father in heaven, hallowed be your name....' (Matthews 6:6-9 NIV).

Packer went on to say: "For everything that Christ taught, everything that makes the New Testament new and better than the Old, everything that is distinctly Christian as opposed to merely Jewish, is summed up in the knowledge of the fatherhood of God."  All other religions demand followers to worship created beings (Mohammad, Buddha),  but Jehovah the Creator, the great I AM, invites us to crawl up in His lap, become His child, and call Him Abba, Daddy.  He said, "I will be a Father to you, and you will be my sons and daughters,"  (2 Corinthians 6:18 NIV).

This Father's Day, no matter what your situation may be with your earthly dad, always remember that you have a Heavenly Father who loves you dearly and has your name written on the palm of His hand.

Let's Pray
Dear Lord, Thank You for being a Father who loves me as His precious child. How amazing to think that the God who created the universe and all it contains invites me to be His child and call Him Abba, Father. I do not take this invitation lightly, but cherish it with all my heart.
In Jesus' Name,  Amen.

Promise #164

Credits belong to 365promises.com

Matthew 17:19-20 WEB
19 Then the disciples came to Jesus privately, and said, “Why weren’t we able to cast it out?”
20 He said to them, “Because of your unbelief. For most certainly I tell you,
if you have faith as a grain of
mustard seed, you will tell this mountain,
‘Move from here to there,’ and it will move; and nothing will be impossible for you.

Promise #164: Nothing will be impossible for those who have even a little faith.

In this promise, Jesus tells us that even if our faith is as tiny as a mustard seed, we are able to tell a mountain to be thrown into the sea. Since I haven't seen many mountains hurled into the sea lately, I often wonder what Jesus meant when He said these words to His disciples.

Of course we all have many figurative mountains in our lives that we face on a daily basis. Perhaps it isn't the literal mountains around us that need moving, but these figurative ones? Maybe one day we will see literal mountains cast into the oceans, but in the meantime, what are the mountains in your life where you need a miracle? I love the fact that Jesus encourages us that we don't need much faith at all to make a big impact.

From what I understand, a mustard seed is a very small seed, yet Jesus says even if our faith is that small, nothing will be impossible to us. Maybe it is time to start exercising the faith that you have? Start speaking to the mountains in your life with a childlike simplicity, just believing that they have to go away in Jesus name. Who knows what may start to happen?

When I think of this promise, I am reminded of the man who came to Jesus to ask Him to deliver his son and Jesus asked him... "Do you believe?". The man responded "Lord, I believe, help my unbelief!" Jesus didn't rebuke the man for this response but healed his son instantly.

God understands our frailty, yet He continues to encourage us to simply have faith and watch what happens. Today I am going to speak to the mountains in my life, how about you?

Identity Lyrics

IDENTITY
By: John Waller

You are love
So I am love
You are joy
And so I am, joy
You are peace
So I am peace
Lord everything you are
Now becomes me

Pre Chorus:
The line between
Where you begin
And where I end
Is gone, now I’m in…

Chorus:
You, I know who I am
You’re my true, born identity
I’m not the one I used to be
For now there is no separating
You… from who I am

You are strong
So I am strong
You are power
And so I am… powerful
You are mercy
So I am mercy
Cause everything you are
Has now become me

Anything less is not us
Anything less is not us
Anything less is not who we are

On Getting Married

I read an article yesterday entitled, “When is the Right Time to get Married?” Honestly, I was not surprised on the facts stated in the article because I already heard those things through my friends.

In the article, they cited things when you should get married.
   - When you are totally, madly, completely, head-over-heels in love.
   - When you are mature enough to understand what marriage really means.
   - When you are in a real relationship where both of you are level-headed people,
     who respect each other.
   - When you feel you’re ready.

But I believe that they missed mentioning one thing in the article and that is “do you see yourself with that person for the rest of your life” because “What therefore God has joined together, let no man separate.” (Mark 10:9)

We know that “divorce” is not new to us. There are lots of couples around the world experiencing this situation. So, how can we avoid this?

First, put God at the center of your relationship. Let God be the third party in your relationship, not other woman or man. When you make God your top priority, everything will be well.

Second, Commitment. I like what Pastor Ru shared during a youth gig last year. He said, “When the feeling is gone, commitment begins”. Maybe there will come a time when you will feel that you no longer love your partner but always remember the promises/vows you declared to each other.

Third, Open Communication. There is a saying in the Book of Proverbs that I always say to my friends and siblings, “An open rebuke is better than hidden love!” (Proverbs 27:5) If you have something you do not like to your partner, say it immediately to him/her. Maybe you only misunderstood her actions and words. Also, a relationship with an open communication can help you know your partner more.

Fourth, Forgive. “Be kind and compassionate to one another, forgiving each other, just as in Christ God forgave you.” (Ephesians 4:32) When your partner confessed his mistakes/faults, talk to him/her on how to solve it; do not argue. Issues can be settled if you have a forgiving heart.

Fifth, Appreciate your Partner. A simple token or a word of appreciation can mean a lot to your partner.

The things that I shared above are just my own opinion. I know that there are lots of successful married couples out there who can counsel and help you when you are experiencing this kind of situation in your marriage/relationship. As doctors always say, “prevention is better than cure”.

I also want to share this quote from my mentor/leader, “Love is a choice. Not a feeling.”

Praise God for the gift of marriage!

Love is patient and kind. Love is not jealous or boastful or proud or rude. It does not demand its own way. It is not irritable, and it keeps no record of being wronged. It does not rejoice about injustice but rejoices whenever the truth wins out. Love never gives up, never loses faith, is always hopeful, and endures through every circumstance.
(1 Corinthians 13:4-7)

FYI: I’m not yet married, but I’m looking forward for it. *wink*

Work for the Lord

I love writing. When I am depressed, angry, afraid and in love, etc, writing is my channel to express my emotions. Today at work, I was tasked to write an article for our “Invest Digest”, the newsletter of our office. The problem is, I don’t feel like doing it.

Wanna know why? Because the task given to me is different from the things I want to write about. I only write because my heart is overwhelmed with the situation. The heart matters.

BUT in times like this, I remind myself on what Paul said in his letter to the Colossians, “Whatever you do, work at it with all your heart, as working for the Lord, not for men”. (Colossians 3:23, NIV)

Paul knew that we will come to this point—we will become weary and we will lose
our passion in our work—so he reminded us in advance to do our work for God
because he knew that we will exert great effort when it comes to God.

Thirsty? Drink the Living Water

Three weeks ago, my friend gave me a tumbler, a Nalgene Tumbler. Since then I challenged myself to drink at least 4-5 liters of water every day to lose weight.

I told my friends about the challenged I set for myself, and they have informed me that water has many health benefits. Some of my friends told me that water could make us look younger and can make our skin healthy while my aunt added that it was vital for efficient digestion.

I strongly agree with these comments. The most common fact about drinking water is that it can heal us. If we could still remember, our parents and grandparents told us to “drink plenty water” when we are sick because they knew that water possessed healing properties, and it can avoid dehydration.

Aside from the “literal water," I would like to talk about the water that only Jesus can offer to us, the living water. Read John 4 for reference.

When Jesus met the Samaritan woman in Jacob’s well, He asked for a drink. However, the woman was surprised on what Jesus asked from her because in their time, Jews refused to have nothing to do with the Samaritans. Then Jesus replied to her, “If you only knew the gift God has for you and who you are speaking to, you would ask me, and I would give you living water.” (John 4:10)

What does Jesus mean about the “Living Water”? He explained that “Those who drink the water I give will never be thirsty again. It becomes a fresh, bubbling spring within them, giving them eternal life.” (John 4:14) After hearing what Jesus said, the Samaritan woman asked Jesus to give him the water. He is telling about so that she will never be thirsty again.

Maybe you are asking what the “Living water” Jesus is offering to us. In the Book of John 7:37-39, Jesus enlightens us about it.

“On the last day, the climax of the festival, Jesus stood and shouted to the crowds, “Anyone who is thirsty may come to me! Anyone who believes in me may come and drink! For the Scriptures declare, ‘Rivers of living water will flow from his heart.’” (When he said “living water,” he was speaking of the Spirit, who would be given to everyone believing in him. But the Spirit had not yet been given, because Jesus had not yet entered into his glory.)”

Yes, the Living Water is the Holy Spirit, and He lives in us. If the living water is already in us, does it mean that we will never be thirsty again? As Jesus promised, we will not be thirsty again. But we should always fill ourselves with the Holy Spirit through continuous “drinking” by singing hymns, praying, reading and hearing the word of God.

If the literal water has many benefits for us, the Living Water also has many benefits. It quenches our thirst such as our need for the love of God, and so on.

Surely, both literal and Living Water has many benefits for us. I pray that we will never take it for granted because they will always be for our own good, physically and spiritually.

The Halgene Tumbler

Let’s pray.

Dear Heavenly Father,

We thank you for the literal and living water that you have given us. Help us to appreciate and use it with care at all times. We love you. We bless you. We honor you. In Jesus’ mighty name. Amen!

For God’s gifts and his call are irrevocable. – Romans 11:29, NIV

Glaiza Samson-Siron
A seeker and lover of our Lord Jesus Christ. A favored princess who is patiently waiting for our King’s promises comes to pass. A child of the Most High God who is hungry and thirsty to our Abba Father’s words. A person who wants to be the person God wants her to be.
