APPRECIATING YOUR AFFLICTIONS

Title: Appreciating Your Afflictions
By: Pastor William B. Galang

Matthew 7:24-27, NLT, Anyone who listens to my teaching and follows it is wise, like a person who builds a house on solid rock. 25 Though the rain comes in torrents and the floodwaters rise and the winds beat against that house, it won’t collapse because it is built on bedrock. 26 But anyone who hears my teaching and doesn’t obey it is foolish, like a person who builds a house on sand. 27 When the rains and floods come and the winds beat against that house, it will collapse with a mighty crash.”

Contrary to what might be expected, I look back on experiences that at the time seemed especially desolating and painful with particular satisfaction. Indeed, I can say with complete truthfulness that everything I have learned in my 47 years in this world, everything that has truly enhanced and enlightened my experience, has been through affliction and not through happiness.

Psalm 119:71, NKJV,It is good for me that I have been afflicted, That I may learn Your statutes.

Psalm 119:71, NLT,My suffering was good for me, for it taught me to pay attention to your decrees.

Psalm 119:71, CEB, “My suffering was good for me, because through it I learned your statutes.

Read again Matthew 7:24-27

Wise Builder
Foolish Builder
Listens and follow
Listens and follow not
Builds on solid ground
Builds on sand
V.25 Though the rain comes in torrents and the floodwaters rise and the winds beat against that house, it won’t collapse because it is built on bedrock.
V.27 When the rains and floods come and the winds beat against that house, it will collapse with a mighty crash.”

At the end of the day, “It’s not how much you have heard or listened to but how much you have obeyed of it in your life. Really the bottom line is not “HOW MUCH YOU BUILD, BUT WILL IT STAND THE STORM?”

1 Corinthians 3:13-14, CEB, “each one’s work will be clearly shown. The day will make it clear, because it will be revealed with fire—the fire will test the quality of each one’s work. 14 If anyone’s work survives, they’ll get a reward.

Remember: Today’s Toil is Your Tomorrow’s Joy!

Proverbs 17:3, NLT, “Fire tests the purity of silver and gold, but the Lord tests the heart.

1.   Our afflictions are Opportunity provider
-      James 1:2, NLT, “Dear brothers and sisters, whenever trouble comes your way, let it be an opportunity.”

2.   Our afflictions are character builders
-      Psalm 105:16-19, NLT, “He called for a famine on the land of Canaan, cutting off its food supply. 17 Then he sent someone to Egypt ahead of them—Joseph, who was sold as a slave. 18 They bruised his feet with fetters and placed his neck in an iron collar. 19 Until the time came to fulfil his dreams, the Lord tested Joseph’s character.

3.   Our afflictions are integrity sustainers
-      1 Peter 3:13-17, NIV, “Who is going to harm you if you are eager to do good? 14 But even if you should suffer for what is right, you are blessed. “Do not fear their threats[b]; do not be frightened.”[c] 15 But in your hearts revere Christ as Lord. Always be prepared to give an answer to everyone who asks you to give the reason for the hope that you have. But do this with gentleness and respect, 16 keeping a clear conscience, so that those who speak maliciously against your good behaviour in Christ may be ashamed of their slander. 17 For it is better, if it is God’s will, to suffer for doing good than for doing evil.

Hymn: He Giveth More Grace

He giveth more grace when the burdens grow greater,
He sendeth more strength when the labors increase;
To added afflictions He addeth His mercy,
To multiplied trials, His multiplied peace.

His love has no limits, His grace has no measure,
His power no boundary known unto men;
For out of His infinite riches in Jesus
He giveth, and giveth, and giveth again

Pray Philippines

Title: Pray Philippines
Pastor Anthony D. Martinez

2 Chronicles 7:14-16, NLT, “If my people, who are called by my name, will humble themselves and pray and seek my face and turn from their wicked ways, then I will hear from heaven, and I will forgive their sin and will heal their land. 15 Now my eyes will be open and my ears attentive to the prayers offered in this place. 16 I have chosen and consecrated this temple so that my Name may be there forever. My eyes and my heart will always be there.

As we are about to choose our next leaders, we also face the challenge of selecting the candidate that has the capability to serve our country with integrity and heart. Many of us are rooting for different candidates. We have different sets of qualifications for them. But whatever the result is qualifications for them. But whatever the result is God’s promise, plan, and purpose will prevail. No one can stop God. As Christians we should humble ourselves before God and surrender to his will. God is more than willing to answer your prayers than you are more than serious about your prayers. We can dream and plan about many things that concerns us but at the end of the day it is what the Lord’s purpose will prevail.

Joshua 1:8

Title: Joshua 1:8
By: Pastor Anthony D. Martinez

For something to operate correctly may it be an electrical appliance or a car you bought recently, you need to follow a set of instructions and maybe go back to it for reference from time to time. In this way you will know how to deal with the issues that will arise later in the product. But did you know that we also have an instruction manual for life? These vital instructions are in the Bible and are meant to be obeyed for you to succeed and prosper in everything that you do.

After the death of Moses, the Lord spoke to Joshua and commanding him to lead the Israelites out of the wilderness and into the Promised Land. Moses’ task before was to lead God’s people out of Egypt. But this is now the time for the people to go to the land that the Lord has promised them. Joshua being Moses’ assistant and apprentice for forty years has seen how the Israelites gave Moses a hard time. The Lord knows how the Israelites deviate from the law from time to time. That’s why He instructed Joshua how to do the task efficiently and God knows that Joshua is an effective leader who carefully obeys every detail of instructions given to him. Joshua followed every word that God said to him. And because of following the Book of Instruction or the Bible, Joshua was able to defeat and conquer vast lands that the Lord is leading them in to.

Studying the Bible is a very vital party of our spiritual growth and everyday life. This book contains all the instruction you will ever need in this lifetime. Whatever season you may be in your life the Bible has some practical solutions on how to deal victoriously and correctly with your everyday concerns. In this way you will be assured that everything that you do will lead you to what God has prepared for you. And as for God, everything He has for you is perfect and the best.

Joshua 1:8 NLT

Study this Book of Instruction continually. Meditate on it day and night so you will be sure to obey everything written it. Only then will you prosper and succeed in all you do.

KEYS TO OPEN DOORS (PART 2)

Title: KEYS TO OPEN DOORS (Part 2)

Almost all people want to be successful. But not all succeed. Last Sunday we’ve talked about Key #1 which is FAITH and key #2, PRAYER. Have you applied them yet? Today we’ll talk about the two remaining keys that we can use to open the right doors.

If there is one thing that you want you settle in your life, it is your key #3. What do you value the most? Is it your career? Is it your family? Your key #3 is PRIORITY. In the Bible it is stated that you must seek God first, and all these things shall be added unto you. Our priority is God” when we are right with God and our hearts just prioritize seeking Him then we are certainly bound for success. What you value, you seek.

Faith, prayer and priority are keys 1, 2, 3. Lastly, our key #4 is PERSISTENCE. When we pray, God always answers our prayers. But sometimes we tend to box God’s ways in our terms. God answers prayers in His own terms. You just don’t understand because you fail to acknowledge God’s ways are far better than yours. Our job is to be persistent in our relationship with Him. We become persistent because we know that God will surely answer our prayers. We are persistent because we know our God is a God who values us. We are very sure and confident. For if we are certain about something we will not give up. Don’t give up! Be persistent, set your priorities, have faith and treat prayer like the air that you breathe. Then you will enter God’s open doors and experience God’s work all throughout your life.

Matthew 7:7-8, NLT, "Keep on asking, and you will receive what you ask for. Keep on seeking, and you will find. Keep on knocking, and the door will be opened to you. For everyone who asks, receives. Everyone who seeks, finds. And to everyone who knocks, the door will be opened.”

KEYS TO OPEN DOORS (Part 1)

Title: KEYS TO OPEN DOORS

Matthew 6:25-33, NLT, “That is why I tell you not to worry about everyday life—whether you have enough food and drink, or enough clothes to wear. Isn’t life more than food, and your body more than clothing? 26 Look at the birds. They don’t plant or harvest or store food in barns, for your heavenly Father feeds them. And aren’t you far more valuable to him than they are? 27 Can all your worries add a single moment to your life? 28 “And why worry about your clothing? Look at the lilies of the field and how they grow. They don’t work or make their clothing, 29 yet Solomon in all his glory was not dressed as beautifully as they are. 30 And if God cares so wonderfully for wildflowers that are here today and thrown into the fire tomorrow, he will certainly care for you. Why do you have so little faith? 31 “So don’t worry about these things, saying, ‘What will we eat? What will we drink? What will we wear?’ 32 These things dominate the thoughts of unbelievers, but your heavenly Father already knows all your needs. 33 Seek the Kingdom of God above all else, and live righteously, and he will give you everything you need.”

To open the door of your house, you need to use a key. To get in your car, you need to use a key. To unlock doors this Year of Open Doors and have them opened, we need to have keys as well. They keys are very basic yet very essential as we about to engage ourselves in this year of open doors. There are four keys that we will dig deep into. But we’ll just be talking about two of these for now so we may savor every bit of them.

The first key is something that we can’t ignore and we can’t live without. And this key has been emphasized in the Bible for so many times. The first key is faith. How do you know if your faith is firm? One manifestation of unwavering faith is joy and confidence in the promises of God even if we can’t see them as of the moment. On the other hand worry is the enemy of faith. A person with little faith worries a lot. But Jesus said not to worry, for our heavenly Father takes care of even the plants and animals that He created. Just imagine what God has in store for you, his children. Worrying makes you stagnant while faith makes you a creative problem solver.

They second key is so basic that sometime most of take this for granted. We tend to overlook its power and impact in our relationship with God. And sometimes it becomes our last resort where in fact it should be our first response. This second key is prayer. When we sometimes work very hard for something to the point of exhaustion, we get frustrated simply because this something is not materializing. And we wonder why. With all the effort and energy, why do we fail? It’s because this door that you are trying so hard to open is not from the Lord. You didn’t pray about it that’s why you just worked for it and it turns out that it’s not they right one for you. When you work, you work. When you pray, God works. There is power in prayer because in God’s system when you submit to Him and acknowledge that he is the source that’s the time when God is working best! Do not worry about anything. Pray about everything.

Faith and prayer are two of the four invaluable keys that we must take seriously to open God’s vast doors for you

MIRACLES TAKE PLACE WHERE THE WILL OF GOD COLLIDES WITH FAITH OF MAN

Title: Miracles take place where the will of God collides with faith of Man
Vision Day 2016
By: Pastor Anthony D. Martinez

We may be overwhelmed by the circumstances we are experiencing. To tell you the truth. What’s more important is what God is doing. Do not rely on what you see. Rely on God and His promises to you. You have to realize that God’s will for your life is far bigger and far greater than all your plans combined. If you are sure that whatever is happening around you is the will of God then you will start seeing miracles happen. We are not to be influenced by the natural things we see but we see through a supernatural life perspective with God.

God can do exceedingly, abundantly, above all that you can ask or think of. When you experience something that is bigger than you, ask yourself if you can do it. If you can’t do it, you are right because only God can. All you need to have is an unwavering faith like that of Abraham’s. Because whatever God has promised, he fulfils. When God asks you to do something, you have to do it even if it means getting out of your comfort zones. And to be able to do that you have to be firm in your faith. God’s promises are not just meant to be underlined, they are meant to be practiced.

Romans 4:16-21, NLT, “So the promise is received by faith. It is given as a free gift. And we are all certain to receive it, whether or not we live according to the law of Moses, if we have faith like Abraham’s. For Abraham is the father of all who believe. 17 That is what the Scriptures mean when God told him, “I have made you the father of many nations.” This happened because Abraham believed in the God who brings the dead back to life and who creates new things out of nothing. 18 Even when there was no reason for hope, Abraham kept hoping—believing that he would become the father of many nations. For God had said to him, “That’s how many descendants you will have!” 19 And Abraham’s faith did not weaken, even though, at about 100 years of age, he figured his body was as good as dead—and so was Sarah’s womb. 20 Abraham never wavered in believing God’s promise. In fact, his faith grew stronger, and in this he brought glory to God. 21 He was fully convinced that God is able to do whatever he promises.”

Isaiah 43:16-19, NLT, “I am the LORD, who opened a way through the waters, making a dry path through the sea. I called forth the mighty army of Egypt with all its chariots and horses. I drew them beneath the waves, and they drowned, their lives snuffed out like a smoldering candlewick. “But forget all that— it is nothing compared to what I am going to do. For I am about to do something new. See, I have already begun! Do you not see it? I will make a pathway through the wilderness. I will create rivers in the dry wasteland.”

Now that you have established your unwavering faith, you are now ready to receive what God has in store for you. Because this year is the year of Open Doors! Be ready to enter God’s wide open doors this year!

BEFORE YOU TURN THE PAGE

Title: Before you turn the page

To move on to new level, next chapter to make a fresh start before you leave 2015 and step into your 2016.

Do not turn the page until you:
1.   Strengthen your relationships
Let’s not forget that relationships are our true riches, these are our true overflow.
Ephesians 4:3, NLT, "Make every effort to keep yourselves united in the Spirit
Value the people around you. If you want to reach other people’s lives, touch and bless others start in your family, lifegroup, dgroup, coworkers…
Great relationships are made up of sorries, thank yous, let’s forget about that, I appreciate you, and (a decision to) stick with you no matter what.
Relationships are gifts from God, strengthen them before you turn the page.

2.   Give all the glory to God
A person who gives glory to God is a thankful person. Simply put – cultivate grateful heart.
1 Corinthians 4:7, NLT, “What do you have that God hasn’t given you? And if everything you have is from God, why boast as though it were not a gift?”
Psalm 115:1, NLT,Not to us, O Lord, not to us, but to your name goes all the glory for your unfailing love and faithfulness.”
Grateful heart is acknowledging that everything you have done and have produced happened because of His Grace.
Grateful heart and giving thanks are different.
Grateful heart sees hope in every situation.
1 Thessalonians 5:16-18, NLT, "Always be joyful. 17 Never stop praying. 18 Be thankful in all circumstances, for this is God’s will for you who belong to Christ Jesus.”
Romans 8:28, NLT, "And we know that God causes everything to work together for the good of those who love God and are called according to his purpose for them.

3.   Get a word
Habakkuk 2:3, NLT, "This vision is for a future time. It describes the end, and it will be fulfilled. If it seems slow in coming, wait patiently, for it will surely take place. It will not be delayed.

4.   Befriend Change
Do not be afraid. God is always progressive.
Passionate pursuits position us to progress.
Safest place is in the pursuit of God.

Faith List – it’s not just you, it’s from God… Promise from God. Claim it from God.

Isaiah 43:18-19, NIV, “Forget the former things; do not dwell on the past. 19 See, I am doing a new thing! Now it springs up; do you not perceive it? I am making a way in the wilderness and streams in the wasteland.”

For God’s gifts and his call are irrevocable. – Romans 11:29, NIV
