Last Minute Miracle

Believe. Expect. Receive. 2011 is not yet over. We still have 3 days (in our country and 4 days in blog site) left to experience Extreme Fruitfulness. Remember, God loves to outdo himself. Believe, Expect and Receive your last minute miracle and major set-ups from God!

I love what James; half-brother of Jesus wrote in his book, You do not have because you do not ask God.” (James 4:2c, NIV). We do not have the things, people, job, ministry, spiritual gifts, etc in our life because we never ask our Heavenly Father for it. Sometimes, we are asking him for those thingy/stuffs but we do not have faith that he can give it to us. How can God meet our expectations if we don’t trust him that He is able to give us what we ask to him?

Aside to our faith issue, there are still things that hinder our miracles. “When you ask, you do not receive, because you ask with wrong motives, that you may spend what you get on your pleasures.” (James 4:3, NIV). Yes, most of the times our motives is wrong. God will not give us what we ask if our heart is not right.

Now, if you want to receive your last minute miracles and major set-ups from God, make sure you have an unshakeable faith and your heart is right. God will meet your expectations for He is able, He loves to outdo himself, He is faithful, He is the creator of Heaven and Earth, and He is the same God yesterday, today and forever.

Let’s pray.

Dear Daddy God,

Father, we know that you are able, you love to outdo yourself and you are faithful in terms of giving. Dad, bless us an unshakeable faith like Abraham and to the woman who is bleeding for 12 years and a heart like Jesus and King David. We bless you, we honor you and we glorify your name. In Jesus’ mighty name. Amen!

Lord I Offer My Life To You Lyrics

Lord I Offer My Life To You
By: Hillsongs

(Verse 1)
All that I am, all that I have
I lay them down before you, oh Lord
All my regrets, all my acclaims
The joy and the pain, I'm making them yours

(Chorus)
Lord, I offer my life to you
Everything I've been through
Use it for your glory
Lord I offer my days to you
Lifting my praise to you
As a pleasing sacrifice
Lord I offer you my life

(Verse 2)
Things in the past, things yet unseen
Wishes and dreams that are yet to come true
All of my heart, all of my praise
My heart and my hands are lifted to you

(Chorus)
Lord, I offer my life to you
Everything I've been through
Use it for your glory
Lord I offer my days to you
Lifting my praise to you
As a pleasing sacrifice
Lord I offer you my life

(Bridge)
What can we give
That you have not given?
And what do we have
That is not already yours?
All we possess
Are these lives we're living
That's what we give to you, Lord

(Chorus)
Lord, I offer my life to you
Everything I've been through
Use it for your glory
Lord I offer my days to you
Lifting my praise to you
As a pleasing sacrifice
Lord I offer you my life

(Chorus)
Lord, I offer my life to you
Everything I've been through
Use it for your glory
Lord I offer my days to you
Lifting my praise to you
As a pleasing sacrifice
Lord I offer you my life
Lord I offer you my life

J.E.N.G

Today is our Life Group Leader’s birthday! Our group is planning a surprise party this coming Friday for her during our LG’s Christmas Party at Clearwater Resort. Remsy shared her ideas for the surprise thingy and we all agreed to her plan. I told the group to write a letter for Jeng since her love language is “Words of Affirmation”.

I’ve been thinking my letter for her since 3 weeks ago. LOL! And I come up to this:

J – Jenerous (I know it should be letter “G”)
E – Encourager
N – Nurturer (Thanx much, Ron!)
G – Good Steward

Jenerous. She is not selfish or whatsoever. She always brings food for the group. She loves to give and not asking anything in return.

Encourager. Jeng encourages us not only our spiritual lives but also our personal and professional lives. She is the kind of person who will listen to your problems and she will cheer/encourage you through her wisdom and experience in life.

Nurturer. As a leader, she cultivates our spiritual growth. She helps us to go deeper to our relationship to our Abba Father, to Jesus Christ and to the Holy Spirit. If we have questions regarding spiritual thingy, she is always ready to answer us with a bible scripture/verse.

Good Steward. Our leader came from a rich family but she knows how to spend her money wisely. If she wants something, she won’t buy it instantly. She will think and pray first if the thing she wants will be useful or not.

Is it good or not? Tell me so that I can rewrite the letter. I still have 3 days to rewrite it. LOL!

Also, today is Tita Daisy’s birthday too. Tita Daisy is like a second mom to me. She is sweet, kind and loving to everyone. She is kind of mom you wish to have. I can still remember her advices and stories about life and I will cherish them forever.

Note: Tita Daisy is Darby’s mom.

Let’s pray.

Dear Daddy God,

Thank you so much for extending your love through Jeng and Tita Daisy. Father, continue to bless their households, their businesses, their hearts, the works of their hands and their ministry. Father, I’m commanding your angels, in Jesus’ name to protect and keep them from any harm. I love and appreciate them both, Dad. In Jesus’ name. Amen!

Real Essence of CHRISTmas

We know that the real essence of Christmas is love, right? Through love, God the Father gave to us his one and only son Jesus Christ (John 3:16). Through love, Jesus Christ laid down his life for us (1 John 3:16). But do you know aside from love, there is another real meaning of Christmas? And that is forgiveness.

Do you know that our God completely forgives us? God’s forgiveness is understanding the depth of God’s love to us.

For his unfailing love toward those who fear him is as great as the height of the heavens above the earth. He has removed our sins as far from us as the east is from the west.
(Psalms 103:11-12, NLT)

Through the verse from above, we learned that God’s forgiveness is out of this world, is of infinite distance and never reach a stopping point. So therefore, we don’t have to feel guilty for all the wrongdoings we’ve done in the past. Our Almighty Father has forgiven us totally. And the scripture also said, “Therefore, there is now no condemnation for those who are in Christ Jesus” (Romans 8:1, NIV).

Now, we already know that our Almighty Father had forgiven us to all of our transgressions. Now, it’s the time to forgive ourselves too, so that we may live in an effective life. A life that God wants us to have.

Let’s pray.

Dear Daddy God,

Father, we thank you for your unfailing love, grace and forgiveness. Thank you that through forgiveness we understand how wide, how long, how high, and how deep your love is. We love you so much. In the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Spirit. Amen!

Christmas version of 1 Corinthians 13

For a child is born to us, a son is given to us. The government will rest on his shoulders. And he will be called: Wonderful Counselor, Mighty God, Everlasting Father, Prince of Peace.
(Isaiah 9:6, NLT)

It’s 9:45PM, December 24, 2011, in our country now. I started my devotion before 12mn strike and I want to have a one-on-one moment with our Savior before anything else.

While I’m having my devotion, I read a Christmas version of 1 Corinthians 13 from an unknown author.

If I decorate my house perfectly with plaid bows, strands of twinkling lights and shiny balls, but do not show love to my family -- I'm just another decorator.

If I slave away in the kitchen baking dozens of Christmas cookies, preparing gourmet meals and arranging a beautifully adorned table, but do not show love to my family --I'm just another cook.

If I work at the soup kitchen, carol in the nursing home and give all that I have to charity, but do not show love to my family -- it profits me nothing.

If I trim the tree with shimmering angels and crocheted snowflakes, attend a myriad of holiday parties and sing in the church choir, but do not focus on Christ -- I have missed the point.

Love stops the cooking to hug the child.
Love sets aside the decorating to kiss the husband.
Love is kind, though harried and tired.
Love doesn't envy another's home that has coordinated Christmas china and table lines.
Love doesn't yell at the kids to get out of the way.
Love doesn't give only to those who are able to give in return.
Love bears all thing, believes all things, hopes all things, endures all things.
Love never fails.

I pray that LOVE will help you set your priorities this Christmas season and may we keep the true meaning of it.

Let’s pray.

Dear Daddy God,

We thank you for loving us first by giving your one and only Son to save us from all our sins. Father, help us to keep the true meaning of having Christ in our lives. We love you. In Jesus’ name. AMEN!

Dream Log #3 Bitter Heart

Waaaaaa! I don’t like my dream today! I just dreamt of a friend of mine. In my dream, he is asking a favor to my life group leader but I told my leader not to listen to him. I can feel the bitterness and hurt in my heart for that person. I don’t know why I’m bitter and hurt. Maybe because I’m expecting a reply from him last night but he never texted me back or whatsoever.

Help me to pray that this dream will not come to pass. Thank you, guys! God bless us!

Let’s pray.

Dear Daddy God,

Father, please don’t let this happen to me. I don’t want to be bitter and hurt. I want to be a better and happy person. Dad, continue to give me a forgiving and a humbling heart. In Jesus’ mighty name. AMEN!

Hebrews 11-13

Faith is the confidence that what we hope for will actually happen; it gives us assurance about things we cannot see.
(Hebrews 11:1, NLT)

My service contract at DTI will end at the end of this month. I’m worrying that I might not extend or whatsoever. Honestly, I need my work here. But if you are going to ask me if I’m still happy, I will answer you, “not anymore”. There are complicated things that I cannot handle anymore especially if it’s about emotion.

I texted my divine connections to pray for me, a new work. As Ida declared, “The best appointed job and position, high paying job, Saturday and Sunday off, with great benefits”. I replied to her, “You forgot easy to get along workmates”. Then she told me, “Sis, I did not include that because you will be tested as a Christian and you will win them in that area”. I agree on what she told me and I told her a story which is a burden to me for more than a year. She advises me to talk to that person through a letter or a text. I told her, “I already emailed her and she answered me sarcastically”. Finally, Ida told me to let that person go and bless her.

When I got home, I told myself to read my bible because it’s been almost a week since I opened it. When I look my bible reading plan, I stopped on Hebrews 10 meaning I should continue reading Hebrews 11, right? I opened my bible in Hebrews 11; I was amaze to the title of the said chapter, “Great Examples of Faith”.

Then I continued reading Chapter 12, “God’s Discipline Proves His Love”. He said in this chapter, “My child, don’t make light of the Lord’s discipline, and don’t give up when he corrects you. For the Lord disciplines those he loves, and he punishes each one he accepts as his child.” (Hebrews 12:5-6, NLT) Discipline is painful. I also know that He is disciplining me in some areas of my life but I know this discipline is for my own good.

Chapter 13, “Concluding Words”. God said to me, “I will never fail you. I will never abandon you.” “The Lord is my helper, so I will have no fear. What can mere people do to me?”

I was crying when I’m reading the 3 remaining chapters of the book of Hebrews. I told myself, “God is truly faithful. He knows what we need in times of like this. He knows I need encouragement, He encourage me through the faith of the Old Testament people. He is disciplining me but He only proves that He loves me. He knows that I feel alone and people around me are against to me but he proves that he will never fail me and he is my helper”. What a great revelation from our Heavenly Father!

Let’s pray.

Dear Daddy God,

Father, I’m overjoyed by you! I cannot contain the feeling. I just wanna worship you, honor you and glorify you! Thank you, Dad! In Jesus’ name. Amen!

Dream Log #2 - Christmas Present

Christmas is in the air! Christmas lights. Puto bumbong and bibingka on the streets, etc.

I went to a nearby mall last night to look for gifts for my friends and loved ones. The mall is full of people who are also buying gifts or other stuffs. After hours of looking and searching for items/presents, I finally made a choice to call a friend on what to give to a certain person that we both cherish. I decided to give the thing that I know she needed and like most.

After buying the items/presents, my next problem is on how to wrap my gift beautifully. Well, I’m not an artistic person that is why it’s a problem for me.

When I went to bed, I’m still thinking of ways on how to wrap it. God answered me through my dream. He told me to use the card board of my Christmas basket from our office as a base then to use the crepe paper I brought a day before.

I know that I’m not creative but our Father, the creator of Heaven and Earth is full of creativity!

Let’s pray.

Dear Daddy God,

Thank you for sharing your creativity to me. I know that I lack special ability in comes to this matter but you show me how to do it. Father, impart me this kind of ability. In Jesus’ name. AMEN!

Canteen Ministry Christmas Party

Last Monday, Mommy Au organized a Christmas Party for the Canteen Ministry people. Some of us did not attend the party because of their engagement to their family and to their other ministry. Even though we are incomplete, we still enjoy the gathering and fellowship that evening.

The Wild Fires, Windy, Jenikko, Stacy, Hannah, Kristelle, Deva and Marie Bee, enjoyed the pool while us, the Catalyst (Beth, Marie, Gel and I), enjoyed the Karaoke! (I sang Saving Grace. LOL!) Aside from the pool and the karaoke, we also enjoyed our food! Mommy Au is a great cook! You should taste it! Beth gives thanks and blesses the food before everything else.

After dinner, the wild fires went upstairs to bath because we will be having our games. A party without games is boring, right? Beth and Marie prepared two kinds of games  and prepared two teams. The First Team consist of Jenikko, Hannah, Stacy and I. The Second team were Windy, Marie Bee, Kristelle and Deva. Then I lead the prayer before we start.

The first is, “Pass the Message”. In this game, the game master will ask a question like this, “What is the 3rd word in the book of Genesis 1:1?” Then we will search our bibles to find the word that the game master is asking to us. (Note: Teams should have the same version to get the same answer). The person who searched for the word will pass it to the next up to the last person in the team. Then the last person will run to the game master and whisper the answer. Why whisper? So that the other team will not hear the answer of your team. Hehehe! The answer to the question of the game master is “beginning”.

In the beginning God created the heavens and the earth.
(Genesis 1:1, NLT)

Maybe you are wandering who won the “Pass The Message” game. Our team won! Wiii! The consequence is we will put ketchup to our opponents face.

The second is “Pinoy Henyo”. This game is well-known in our country because one of the TV Shows here played this. Below is the mechanic of this game.
Groups are composed of 2 members: the one who will guess the word/phrase and the other is the one who will respond to the guesser.
The group will pick a paper that correspond a word/phrase/name
There will be 2 minutes only to answer the guess words/phrase/name
The one who will respond will only answer YES, NO and MAYBE. Until the guesser guess the right words/phrase/name.

Our Team loses this time. Fair enough, right? Both teams experienced the consequence.

Discussing the mechanics of the game, "Pass the Message"

With Deva after putting the ketchup on her cheek

With Stacy after Pinoy Henyo, we lose the second game.

Let’s pray.

Dear Daddy God,

Father, we thank you for the lives of every member of the Canteen Ministry especially Mommy Au. Continue to bless our ministry and the works of our hands. Father, we also pray that we may glorify and honor you in everything we do in this ministry. We love you, we honor you, we respect you, we bless you. In Jesus’ name. Amen!

Personalize The Vision

Love God.
Make Disciples.
Impact our world.

That is the vision of our church, His Life City Church. Our senior Pastor asked us to personalize the vision of our church like this...

Hi, I am _____________. I love God, I Make Disciples, I Impact My World.

There are three ways in personalizing the vision.

First, Live Passionately. A passionate person can accomplish things for the glory and honor of God.

Second, Live Purposefully. To make disciples is to live our life with a purpose rather is to live purposefully.

Third, Live Powefully. To impact our world is to live powerfully and to live unselfishly.

Now, can you do that for God’s greater glory? To live passionately, purposefully and powerfully for him? I know you can.

BTW, I am Glaiza Samson, one of the leaders of catalyst network of His Life City Church. I love God, I Make Disciples, I Impact My World.

Let's pray.

Dear Daddy God,

We thank you for the vision that you've given us. Help us to do it with all heart, mind, soul and strength and to use us mightily for your greater glory. In Jesus' glorious name. Amen!

In His time, IT WILL BE ME!

One of my best friends got married last night. They had their civil wedding last March at Qatar but last night it’s their Christian Garden Wedding with their families and friends.

Five months ago, Ate Cey informed me that I will be her Maid of Honor during their wedding and I got overwhelmed to her invitation because she can asked Taan or her younger sister for that role. She also asked Taan and I if we can help her for the preparation like venue, gowns for the entourage, food, flowers and giveaways.

Before the wedding, I thought I couldn’t make it on time because my boss gave me an urgent project that it’s so impossible to finish it in one day but I told her my reasons that I need more time to do it. Praise God she let me go home before 2pm.  When I got home, I looked for my cousin to do the make-up thingy but she’s at Ate Cey’s house. I did what I have supposed to do (I took a bath, etc.)

During the wedding, Pastor Anthony told us that the most important thing in a ceremony is the exchanging of vows not the food and gowns. In exchanging of vows, you will see their commitments and passion to one another. Amen! Ate Cey got emotional during this moment. Pastor Anthony also told the couple to honor or give thanks to their parents. He told them that in 10 commandments, there is only 1 commandment that there is a promise. "Honor your father and mother. Then you will live a long, full life in the land the LORD your God is giving you.” (Exodus 20:12, NLT)

In the reception, the newlywed prepared a special number for us. They sang their love song entitled, “The Gift”. I never thought that Kuya Kris can sing well. LOL!

My fave part of the song.

Winter snow is falling down

Children laughing all around

Lights are turning on

Like a fairy tale come true

Sittin’ by the fire we made

You’re the answer when I prayed

I would find someone

And, baby, I found you

And all I want is to hold you forever

All I need is you more everyday

You saved my heart from being broken apart

You gave your love away and I’m thankful everyday, for the gift

Throughout the wedding, I was thinking of me getting married someday. I know God prepared someone for me. He said in his word, "It is not good for the man to be alone. I will make a helper who is just right for him." (Genesis 2:18, NLT) I believe that God is preparing us both to be the person we want to be. In His time, it will be me!

Captured moments...

Let’s pray.

Dear Daddy God,

Thank you for the gift of companionship. I believe that you prepared a helper in each one of us who is just right for our needs. Lord, I’m asking you to bless Ate Cey and Kuya Kris all throughout their marriage. I know that their marriage will be tested in the future but Lord, be with them the entire time, guide and keep them together. We praise you and glorify you. In Jesus’ name. Amen!

For God’s gifts and his call are irrevocable. – Romans 11:29, NIV
