Fear of Old Age

Do you fear old age? I believe everyone feared this thingy, right? I do not know why you fear it but I know that we have different reasons why we fear getting old. As for me, I feared getting old because of the thought, “I still have many unfulfilled plans and dreams for myself and for my family”. I kept on thinking this thought every day because in a matter of days, I’ll be a year older.

During my devotion this morning, God surprised me with these scriptures:

Even to your old age and gray hairs I am he, I am he who will sustain you. I have made you and I will carry you; I will sustain you and I will rescue you.
(Isaiah 46:4, NIV)

Even in old age they will still produce fruit; they will remain vital and green.
(Psalm 92:14, NLT)

Wow! What a magnificent promise for us! Even in our old age, He still has promise for us. We just have to believe and claim it. Remember, He is true to His words.

Let’s pray.

Dear Daddy God,

I admit that I feared and worried getting old. I thank you for your assurance that even in my old age, you will still have plans for me. I love you! In Jesus’ name. Amen!
