Be Surprised!

Last night, our life group leader, Jeng, prepared a surprise birthday celebration for Ty and Mie. She instructed us to wait at kidz tent, wear the party hats and to light the candle when she and Mie enter the room. When Mie saw the surprise for her she was astonished and speechless.

While we are giving our tokens and words of affirmation to Mie, Ty, the other celebrant arrives at the scene. We pretend that we don’t have anything for her but of course we already have planned on how to surprise her. The plan is we will pray into partners. Jeng volunteered herself to be Ty’s prayer partner while us had our short prayers with our partners and prepared the surprise for her. We hid the cakes at the back of the chairs and when she came, we lit the candle and sing the “Happy Birthday” song. She cried because she thought that she was forgotten and we told her that her “upset is a set-up!”

Here are the captured moments…

Let’s pray,

Dear Daddy God,

Almighty Father, we thank you for your faithfulness and goodness to Ty and Mie’s lives. We pray that you will continue to transform and empower them with your Holy Spirit and that they will continue to seek and love you more. We love you, Dad. In Jesus’ name. Amen!
