LIVE OUT YOUR IDENTITY
Title: Live Out Your Identity
By: Pastor
Anthony D. Martinez
Many
Christians live the Christian journey without experiencing the fullness of God’s
blessing found in Jesus Christ. Why do many Christians live their lives
lacking? Trying? Struggling? Doubting? Murmuring? Losing?
Maybe
our minds are not aligned with out new hearts. We have a new heart, but we
think just like how we used to think before we came to know Christ. It won’t
work. There has to be an alignment of the heart and mind.
The
true satisfaction in life and all its fullness are only found in Jesus! Jesus is
the biggest blessing. Jesus is enough. Jesus is everything.
How
do we live out our identity in Christ?
Wake up Son-Conscious, not slave- Conscious!
In
Christ we are no longer orphans, we are no longer slaves. In Christ we became
children of God. There has to be a conscious effort of setting our minds to
this truth.
If
we don’t understand that God is our Father, we will always live like orphans. The
result is looking for love in the wrong places. We go from church to church,
from one lifegroup to another, and from one relationship to another.
Renewing
our minds is about thinking about God’s thoughts towards us! That is going back
to our true identity again. We are God’s children, He loves us unconditionally.
If we know this truth, we will never be afraid again. More so, if we understand
this, it will lead us to intimacy.
Intimacy
is knowing that we are known.
Speak Life!
The
tongue has the power of life and death. And those who love it will eat its
fruit. The soothing tongue is a tree of life, but a perverse tongue crushes the
spirit.
Live thankful!
God
did not create you for you – He created you for Him! You are not the center, He
is! It’s not about you, it’s about HIM!
God
is asking you to give up something you were not made to be. You were not
created to be selfish, arrogant, proud, envious, and covetous…
If
you find out who you really are in Christ, you’ll be thankful for the life God
has given you. Life is a gift. Grace is a gift. Love is a gift. When you
understand that all you have is a gift, you’ll be thankful!

IDENTITY IN CRISIS, IDENTITY IN CHRIST
Title: Identity in Crisis, Identity in Christ
By: Pastor
Anthony D. Martinez
Ephesians 3:18-19,
“18
And may you have the power to understand, as all God’s people should, how wide,
how long, how high and how deep his love. 19 May you experience the love of
Christ, though it is too great to understand fully. Then you will be made
complete with all the fullness of life and power that comes from God.
Your
identity is connected to your destiny. As a matter of fact, your identity in
Christ is the core if everything. Knowing our true identity encourages us to
live in the truth – and that is called true freedom.
There
are two things that establish our identity – one is the Breath of Life that
comes from God and His unconditional love for us! Without the breath of life,
we are dead. Similarly, without the unconditional love of God, are of no value.
Jeremiah 31:3
says,
“The Lord appeared to us in the past, saying: I have loved you with an
everlasting love; I have drawn you with unfailing kindness.”
God’s
love is unconditional, unending and eternal. And yes, God, Himself, is love. He
is consistent. He is not fickle minded. He is never moody and He’s not
unpredictable. God’s love always sets us free from performance mindset.
LOVE IS A
CHOICE.
Part of the nature of love is a choice. If there is no choice, there is no
love. God’s love towards us is a choice. And part of the expression of His love
for us is His gift of freedom to choose. Without this gift, we are not humans,
we are just robots.
However,
humans use this will to keep from doing evil and choose to do good, believing
this is the way of life. It simply doesn’t work. Our good is never enough. God did
not give us the gift of choice to choose between two branches – the good or the
evil. More precisely, He has given us
the gift of choice between two trees – the Tree of Life or the Tree of
Knowledge of Good and Evil.
Furthermore,
God gave us our will to choose to surrender. To surrender means to cease to
act. Giving all to Him. Trusting Him in everything. Letting God take full
control.

IDENTITY IN CHRIST
Title: Identity in Christ
By: Pastor
Anthony D. Martinez
Genesis 2:7,
KJV, “And the Lord God formed man of the dust of the ground, and breathed into
his nostrils the breath of life; and man became a living soul.
Now
that we know that our identity is in Christ, we take a deeper look about who
are really are. To understand our identity further, we need to go back to the
Source and understand “Who” do we come from.
We
were created out of love. And God breathed life into us, lavishing each one of
us with His unfailing love. Death is not just merely a physical phenomenon – it
is so much more than that! Death is the disconnection of man from the Source of
Life.
Death
happened when man chose the Tree of Knowledge of Good and Evil over the Tree of
Life. Ever since, man has operating on knowledge, probing ways on how to find
the way back to the Source of Life – but they totally lost it!
“I am the way,
the truth, and the life” Jesus answered. “Without me, no one can go to the
Father”. – John 14:6, NIV
There
goes our Answer – JESUS. Not any
form of good work and good behaviour could match this massive offer of Jesus –
His Life!
We
find our identity in Christ. He is the Source. To go back to our true identity
means to go back to Jesus. Nothing more, nothing less.
