LIVE OUT YOUR IDENTITY

Title: Live Out Your Identity
By: Pastor Anthony D. Martinez

Many Christians live the Christian journey without experiencing the fullness of God’s blessing found in Jesus Christ. Why do many Christians live their lives lacking? Trying? Struggling? Doubting? Murmuring? Losing?

Maybe our minds are not aligned with out new hearts. We have a new heart, but we think just like how we used to think before we came to know Christ. It won’t work. There has to be an alignment of the heart and mind.

The true satisfaction in life and all its fullness are only found in Jesus! Jesus is the biggest blessing. Jesus is enough. Jesus is everything.

How do we live out our identity in Christ?

Wake up Son-Conscious, not slave- Conscious!

In Christ we are no longer orphans, we are no longer slaves. In Christ we became children of God. There has to be a conscious effort of setting our minds to this truth.

If we don’t understand that God is our Father, we will always live like orphans. The result is looking for love in the wrong places. We go from church to church, from one lifegroup to another, and from one relationship to another.

Renewing our minds is about thinking about God’s thoughts towards us! That is going back to our true identity again. We are God’s children, He loves us unconditionally. If we know this truth, we will never be afraid again. More so, if we understand this, it will lead us to intimacy.

Intimacy is knowing that we are known.

Speak Life!

The tongue has the power of life and death. And those who love it will eat its fruit. The soothing tongue is a tree of life, but a perverse tongue crushes the spirit.

Live thankful!

God did not create you for you – He created you for Him! You are not the center, He is! It’s not about you, it’s about HIM!

God is asking you to give up something you were not made to be. You were not created to be selfish, arrogant, proud, envious, and covetous…

If you find out who you really are in Christ, you’ll be thankful for the life God has given you. Life is a gift. Grace is a gift. Love is a gift. When you understand that all you have is a gift, you’ll be thankful!
