Title: KEYS TO OPEN DOORS (Part 2)
Almost
all people want to be successful. But not all succeed. Last Sunday we’ve talked
about Key #1 which is FAITH and key #2, PRAYER. Have you applied them yet? Today
we’ll talk about the two remaining keys that we can use to open the right
doors.
If
there is one thing that you want you settle in your life, it is your key #3. What
do you value the most? Is it your career? Is it your family? Your key #3 is
PRIORITY. In the Bible it is stated that you must seek God first, and all these
things shall be added unto you. Our priority is God” when we are right with God
and our hearts just prioritize seeking Him then we are certainly bound for
success. What you value, you seek.
Faith,
prayer and priority are keys 1, 2, 3. Lastly, our key #4 is PERSISTENCE. When we
pray, God always answers our prayers. But sometimes we tend to box God’s ways
in our terms. God answers prayers in His own terms. You just don’t understand
because you fail to acknowledge God’s ways are far better than yours. Our job
is to be persistent in our relationship with Him. We become persistent because
we know that God will surely answer our prayers. We are persistent because we
know our God is a God who values us. We are very sure and confident. For if we
are certain about something we will not give up. Don’t give up! Be persistent,
set your priorities, have faith and treat prayer like the air that you breathe.
Then you will enter God’s open doors and experience God’s work all throughout
your life.
Matthew 7:7-8, NLT, "Keep on asking, and you
will receive what you ask for. Keep on seeking, and you will find. Keep on
knocking, and the door will be opened to you. 8 For everyone who asks, receives. Everyone who seeks,
finds. And to everyone who knocks, the door will be opened.”

6:25-33, NLT,
“That is why I tell you not to worry about everyday
life—whether you have enough food and drink, or enough clothes to wear. Isn’t
life more than food, and your body more than clothing? 26 Look at the birds. They don’t plant or harvest or store food in
barns, for your heavenly Father feeds them. And aren’t you far more valuable to
him than they are? 27 Can all your
worries add a single moment to your life? 28 “And why worry about your clothing? Look at the lilies of the
field and how they grow. They don’t work or make their clothing, 29 yet Solomon in all his glory was not dressed as beautifully as
they are. 30 And if God cares so
wonderfully for wildflowers that are here today and thrown into the fire
tomorrow, he will certainly care for you. Why do you have so little faith? 31 “So don’t worry about these things, saying, ‘What will we eat?
What will we drink? What will we wear?’ 32 These things dominate the thoughts of unbelievers, but your
heavenly Father already knows all your needs. 33 Seek the Kingdom of God above all else, and live righteously,
and he will give you everything you need.”
To open the door of
your house, you need to use a key. To get in your car, you need to use a key.
To unlock doors this Year of Open Doors and have them opened, we need to have
keys as well. They keys are very basic yet very essential as we about to engage
ourselves in this year of open doors. There are four keys that we will dig deep
into. But we’ll just be talking about two of these for now so we may savor
every bit of them.
The first key is
something that we can’t ignore and we can’t live without. And this key has been
emphasized in the Bible for so many times. The
first key is faith. How do
you know if your faith is firm? One manifestation of unwavering faith is joy
and confidence in the promises of God even if we can’t see them as of the
moment. On the other hand worry is the enemy of faith. A person with little
faith worries a lot. But Jesus said not to worry, for our heavenly Father takes
care of even the plants and animals that He created. Just imagine what God has
in store for you, his children. Worrying makes you stagnant while faith makes
you a creative problem solver.
They second key is
so basic that sometime most of take this for granted. We tend to overlook its
power and impact in our relationship with God. And sometimes it becomes our
last resort where in fact it should be our first response. This second key is prayer.
When we sometimes work very hard for something to the point of exhaustion, we
get frustrated simply because this something is not materializing. And we
wonder why. With all the effort and energy, why do we fail? It’s because this
door that you are trying so hard to open is not from the Lord. You didn’t pray
about it that’s why you just worked for it and it turns out that it’s not they
right one for you. When you work, you work. When you pray, God works. There is
power in prayer because in God’s system when you submit to Him and acknowledge
that he is the source that’s the time when God is working best! Do not worry
about anything. Pray about everything.
Faith and prayer are two of the
four invaluable keys that we must take seriously to open God’s vast doors for
you

We
may be overwhelmed by the circumstances we are experiencing. To tell you the
truth. What’s more important is what God is doing. Do not rely on what you see.
Rely on God and His promises to you. You have to realize that God’s will for
your life is far bigger and far greater than all your plans combined. If you
are sure that whatever is happening around you is the will of God then you will
start seeing miracles happen. We are not to be influenced by the natural things
we see but we see through a supernatural life perspective with God.
God
can do exceedingly, abundantly, above all that you can ask or think of. When you
experience something that is bigger than you, ask yourself if you can do it. If
you can’t do it, you are right because only God can. All you need to have is an
unwavering faith like that of Abraham’s. Because whatever God has promised, he fulfils.
When God asks you to do something, you have to do it even if it means getting
out of your comfort zones. And to be able to do that you have to be firm in
your faith. God’s promises are not just meant to be underlined, they are meant
to be practiced.
Romans
4:16-21, NLT,
“So the promise is received by faith. It is given as a free gift. And we are
all certain to receive it, whether or not we live according to the law of
Moses, if we have faith like Abraham’s. For Abraham is the father of all who
believe. 17 That is what the Scriptures mean when God told him, “I have made
you the father of many nations.” This happened because Abraham believed in the
God who brings the dead back to life and who creates new things out of nothing.
18 Even when there was no reason for hope, Abraham kept hoping—believing that
he would become the father of many nations. For God had said to him, “That’s
how many descendants you will have!” 19 And Abraham’s faith did not weaken,
even though, at about 100 years of age, he figured his body was as good as
dead—and so was Sarah’s womb. 20 Abraham never wavered in believing God’s
promise. In fact, his faith grew stronger, and in this he brought glory to God.
21 He was fully convinced that God is able to do whatever he promises.”
Isaiah
43:16-19, NLT,
“I am the LORD, who opened a way through the waters, making a dry path through
the sea. I called forth the mighty army of Egypt with all its chariots and
horses. I drew them beneath the waves, and they drowned, their lives snuffed
out like a smoldering candlewick. “But forget all that— it is nothing compared
to what I am going to do. For I am about to do something new. See, I have
already begun! Do you not see it? I will make a pathway through the wilderness.
I will create rivers in the dry wasteland.”
Now
that you have established your unwavering faith, you are now ready to receive
what God has in store for you. Because this year is the year of Open Doors! Be
ready to enter God’s wide open doors this year!

BEFORE YOU TURN THE PAGE

To move on to new
level, next chapter to make a fresh start before you leave 2015 and step into
your 2016.
Do not turn the page
until you:
1. Strengthen your relationships
Let’s not forget
that relationships are our true riches, these are our true overflow.
Ephesians 4:3, NLT, "Make every effort to keep
yourselves united in the Spirit
Value the people
around you. If you want to reach other people’s lives, touch and bless others
start in your family, lifegroup, dgroup, coworkers…
Great relationships
are made up of sorries, thank yous, let’s forget about that, I appreciate you,
and (a decision to) stick with you no matter what.
Relationships are
gifts from God, strengthen them before you turn the page.
2. Give all the glory to God
A person who gives
glory to God is a thankful person. Simply put – cultivate grateful heart.
1 Corinthians 4:7, NLT, “What do you have that God hasn’t
given you? And if everything you have is from God, why boast as though it were
not a gift?”
Psalm 115:1, NLT, “Not
to us, O Lord, not to us, but to your name goes all the glory
for your unfailing love and faithfulness.”
Grateful heart is acknowledging that everything
you have done and have produced happened because of His Grace.
Grateful heart and
giving thanks are different.
Grateful heart
sees hope in every situation.
1 Thessalonians 5:16-18, NLT, "Always be joyful. 17 Never stop praying. 18 Be thankful in all circumstances, for this is
God’s will for you who belong to Christ Jesus.”
Romans 8:28, NLT, "And
we know that God causes everything to work together for the good of those who love God and
are called according to his purpose for them.
3. Get a word
Habakkuk 2:3, NLT, "This
vision is for a future time. It describes the end, and it will be fulfilled. If
it seems slow in coming, wait patiently, for it will surely take place. It will
not be delayed.
4. Befriend Change
Do not be afraid. God
is always progressive.
Passionate pursuits
position us to progress.
Safest place is in
the pursuit of God.
Faith List – it’s
not just you, it’s from God… Promise from God. Claim it from God.

INTIMACY

1 John 15:21,
NLT,
“Dear children, keep away from anything that might take God’s place in your
hearts.”
In
our Christian walk, our goal is to be Christ like. But if we ask ourselves
today, does intimacy with God our major concern? Doing what is good is of the
practices to help us be more like Christ but let us remember that it’s not the
only thing to do.
Our
main goal in this lifetime is to go back to God. Our top priority is to
establish an unshakable intimacy with Him.
Ironically,
sometimes, the very think that takes our hearts away from God are not the bad
things but the good things He has given us.
Let
us take a look at these simply but important principles that we should ponder
on.
Our
goal is not only to know God, but to seek him. Not only to talk about Him, but
actually talk to Him. Not only to rely on Him, but to relate with Him.
Our
utmost goal is intimacy. Intimacy is the reward of commitment. When you feel
like you’ve lost your way, go back to the center of it all, Jesus. If it’s not
God whom you prioritize then it is not right anymore.
Matthew 6:33,
AMP,
“Bur first and most importantly seek (aim at, strive after) His kingdom and His
righteousness [His way of doing and being right-the-attitude and character of
God], and all these things will be given to you also.”

And, you have lost

PRAY THE WORD

When
we go back to our identity in Christ we know that we are forgiven, saved,
healed and favoured. Our identity in him is everything. To understand more
about our identity we will talk about two powerful truths that will help us to
reinforce our foundation in Christ.
1.
Jesus came to reveal the Father’s heart.
We live in a world of orphans. Orphans
have uncertainties with their identity and these uncertainties lead to tireless
seeking of approval and acceptance from people. Others think they will find
life’s meaning in promotions. Hence, they end up struggling striving for more
because of the after all, they are still unsatisfied.
When Jesus came, He showed what really
matters. He came to reveal the Father’s Heart – the love that gives us
assurance, satisfaction and confidence.
2.
Jesus came to release the Father’s blessing.
Blessings are not about materials
things. It’s not about what we want but about what we need. The father’s
blessings restore our identity, give purpose in our lives, assure us of our
identity and connect us to His unlimited resources.
Pray the Word
Understanding
our true identity leads to fulfilling our very purpose in life. Being God’s
children, it is also logical to say that we are also heirs to God’s riches and
we now have access to God’s unlimited resources.
But
if we want to tap God’s unlimited resources, we ought to pray the word. There is
power in declaration. When we declare God’s word, it accomplished its purpose
and never returns void!
The
next time you read your Bible, make each verse a prayer. Say it so you can hear
it. Believe it. Be confident. Be intentional. This will give dynamics to your
prayers. Wait as miracles unfold right
before your very eyes.

FEARLESS

“Getting into a boat, Jesus crossed
over the sea and came to His own city. 2 And they brought to Him a paralytic lying on a bed.
Seeing their faith, Jesus said to the paralytic, “Take courage, son; your sins are forgiven.” 3 And some of the scribes said to themselves, “This fellow blasphemes.” 4 And Jesus knowing their thoughts said, “Why are you thinking evil in your hearts? 5 Which
is easier, to say, ‘Your sins are forgiven,’ or to say, ‘Get up, and walk’? 6 But
so that you may know that the Son of Man has authority on earth to forgive sins”—then He *said to the paralytic, “Get up, pick up your bed and go home.”7 And
he got up and went home. 8 But
when the crowds saw this, they were awestruck, and glorified God, who had
given such authority to men.”
Jesus offers not muscles but mercy
Uncertainty about eternity
is the Godzilla of all angst. Being afraid was first experiences when Adam and
Eve disobeyed God in the garden. Digging deeper, it’s not just disobedience –
disobedience was a by-product of man’s disregard of God.
But God gives mercy. He knows
that with our own strength it is impossible to work for our salvation – only Jesus
was qualified to do that! So God gives mercy up until now.
Grace gives birth to courage
Nothing fosters courage
like a clear grasp of grace! And nothing fosters fear like the ignorance of it.
Titus 2:11 says, “God’s readiness to give and forgive is now public. Salvation’s
available for everyone!” In verse 15, “Tell them all this. Build up their
courage.”
Grace defangs fear
In the Bible, “Do not fear”
was mentioned 365 times, enough to sustain our everyday living. God knows we
are vulnerable to living in fear because the world is conditioning insecurities
in our hearts and minds. But the Word of God is our sword and shield! There are
enough promises to hold on to, to be fearless!
We are certain that
salvation is ours in Christ Jesus! Nothing like the grace God gives us! Grace through
only One Person – JESUS!
