IDENTITY IN CRISIS, IDENTITY IN CHRIST

Title: Identity in Crisis, Identity in Christ
By: Pastor Anthony D. Martinez

Ephesians 3:18-19, “18 And may you have the power to understand, as all God’s people should, how wide, how long, how high and how deep his love. 19 May you experience the love of Christ, though it is too great to understand fully. Then you will be made complete with all the fullness of life and power that comes from God.

Your identity is connected to your destiny. As a matter of fact, your identity in Christ is the core if everything. Knowing our true identity encourages us to live in the truth – and that is called true freedom.

There are two things that establish our identity – one is the Breath of Life that comes from God and His unconditional love for us! Without the breath of life, we are dead. Similarly, without the unconditional love of God, are of no value.

Jeremiah 31:3 says, “The Lord appeared to us in the past, saying: I have loved you with an everlasting love; I have drawn you with unfailing kindness.”

God’s love is unconditional, unending and eternal. And yes, God, Himself, is love. He is consistent. He is not fickle minded. He is never moody and He’s not unpredictable. God’s love always sets us free from performance mindset.

LOVE IS A CHOICE. Part of the nature of love is a choice. If there is no choice, there is no love. God’s love towards us is a choice. And part of the expression of His love for us is His gift of freedom to choose. Without this gift, we are not humans, we are just robots.

However, humans use this will to keep from doing evil and choose to do good, believing this is the way of life. It simply doesn’t work. Our good is never enough. God did not give us the gift of choice to choose between two branches – the good or the evil. More precisely, He has given us the gift of choice between two trees – the Tree of Life or the Tree of Knowledge of Good and Evil.

Furthermore, God gave us our will to choose to surrender. To surrender means to cease to act. Giving all to Him. Trusting Him in everything. Letting God take full control.

IDENTITY IN CHRIST

By: Pastor Anthony D. Martinez

Genesis 2:7, KJV, “And the Lord God formed man of the dust of the ground, and breathed into his nostrils the breath of life; and man became a living soul.

Now that we know that our identity is in Christ, we take a deeper look about who are really are. To understand our identity further, we need to go back to the Source and understand “Who” do we come from.

We were created out of love. And God breathed life into us, lavishing each one of us with His unfailing love. Death is not just merely a physical phenomenon – it is so much more than that! Death is the disconnection of man from the Source of Life.

Death happened when man chose the Tree of Knowledge of Good and Evil over the Tree of Life. Ever since, man has operating on knowledge, probing ways on how to find the way back to the Source of Life – but they totally lost it!

“I am the way, the truth, and the life” Jesus answered. “Without me, no one can go to the Father”. – John 14:6, NIV

There goes our Answer – JESUS. Not any form of good work and good behaviour could match this massive offer of Jesus – His Life!

We find our identity in Christ. He is the Source. To go back to our true identity means to go back to Jesus. Nothing more, nothing less.

VICTORIOUS FAITH

Title: Victorious Faith
By: Pastor Anthony D. Martinez

“Some of the greatest battles will be fought within the silent chambers of your own soul.” – Ezra Taft Benson

Admit it or not, we face battles every day. Yes, every-single-day. In fact for all believers, it has never been a promise to live a trouble-free life. Furthermore, Jesus said, “In this world you will have many troubles…”

Strange as it may seem, despite all these apparently forewarnings, the beautiful truth is that we already have victory. Overwhelming victory is ours through Christ Jesus. What He has done on that Cross was never in vain and it is free to receive.

Victory comes by faith. The way of victory is the way of faith. Victorious living comes by living faith.

Truths we should know (in facing our battles!)

We don’t need to face our battles ALONE. “The LORD himself will fight for you. Just stay calm.” What a promise” the Almighty God, the Lord of the Angel Armies will fight for us!

We submit to God and God will fight for us. “So humble yourselves before God. Resist the devil, and he will flee from you.” (James 4:7

We don’t fight toward victory, we fight FROM VICTORY. This is a very basic truth that we must always be reminded every single day. We cannot victorious lives with defeated attitudes. Victory is ours. All we do is claim, enforce, and live it out!

BRAVE FAITH

Title: Brave Faith
By: Pastor Anthony Martinez

Psalm 16:8, NLT, “I know the Lord is always with me. I will not be shaken, for He is right beside me.”

A solid faith is the foundation that cultivates brave faith. This kind of faith encourages us to follow Him and to take risks and eventually step out of the boat and walk on water.

Brave faith lets us do the right thing no matter what the circumstances are. We do not base our decisions on what we see but we put our absolute trust in God’s purpose and plan for us, even if we not see them.

Fortune favors the brave. The adventures of brave faith begin with God’s faithfulness and yours. Your brave faith is a recipe for miracles.

SOLID FAITH

Title: Solid Faith = Solid Life
By: Pastor Anthony D. Martinez

Hebrews 11:1, 6 NIV, "Now faith is confidence in what we hope for and assurance about what we do not see. 6 And without faith it is impossible to please God, because anyone who comes to him must believe that he exists and that he rewards those who earnestly seek him."

What do we do for us to have faith? Do we earn it or work for it? The good news about faith is that God gives it to us freely. But it doesn’t just end there. Once you receive the gift of faith you need to mature it, use it and exercise it.

Solid faith is about trusting God and testing your own character. A solid faith is not only about wishful thinking. You can’t speak about faith without talking about obedience. It is your greatest testimony of faith in God.

God expects us to grow our gifts. We should be diligent, excellent and unique when we execute God’s will. They you will see that God arranges your every experience according to his purpose.

REDEEMING THE TIME

Title: Redeeming the Time
By: Pastor William B. Galang

There are two things in life that we cannot take back, words when you already said them, and time that has already passed.

Ephesians 5:15-17, NLT,So be careful how you live. Don’t live like fools, but like those who are wise.16 Make the most of every opportunity in these evil days. 17 Don’t act thoughtlessly, but understand what the Lord wants you to do.

Now we want to take a closer look at time. This is equally allotted for all. Rich or poor, young or old, we are only given 24 hours a day. More than ever God wants us to spend our time wisely. He wants us to follow him.

Making good use of our time is of ultimate importance because the days are evil, we don’t have much time left, and time itself is not ours.

WHAT YOU ARE, WHERE YOU ARE, WILL DIRECT WHERE YOU WILL BE

Title: what you are, where you are, will direct where you will be
By: Pastor Anthony D. Martinez

Matthew 6:25-27, NLT,That is why I tell you not to worry about everyday life—whether you have enough food and drink, or enough clothes to wear. Isn’t life more than food, and your body more than clothing? 26 Look at the birds. They don’t plant or harvest or store food in barns, for your heavenly Father feeds them. And aren’t you far more valuable to him than they are? 27 Can all your worries add a single moment to your life?

Monotonous and boring or relentless and eventful? How do you describe your life now? Life isn’t about how much you control it. Life is about how you decide today that redeems your past and determines your future.

We cannot do anything about the past anymore, more so we can’t find out the future as well. Giving your best and staying faithful are the keys. Where you are right now is the best place to start moving, to start conquering, and to start succeeding!

Grow where you are.
Overcome where you are.
Pass the test where you are.

What you do today can have a great impact on you tomorrow. Today, God has placed you in a situation where he wants you to learn and to be refined for a greater purpose that he has in store for you. Do not worry and stay focused on what God wants you to do, now!

For God’s gifts and his call are irrevocable. – Romans 11:29, NIV
