7:14-16, NLT,
“If my people, who
are called by my name, will humble themselves and pray and
seek my face and turn from their wicked ways,
then I will hear from heaven, and I will forgive their sin and will heal their land. 15 Now my eyes will be open and my ears attentive to
the prayers offered in this place. 16 I have chosen and
consecrated this temple so that my Name may be there forever. My eyes and my
heart will always be there.”
As we are
about to choose our next leaders, we also face the challenge of selecting the
candidate that has the capability to serve our country with integrity and
heart. Many of us are rooting for different candidates. We have different sets
of qualifications for them. But whatever the result is qualifications for them.
But whatever the result is God’s promise, plan, and purpose will prevail. No one
can stop God. As Christians we should humble ourselves before God and surrender
to his will. God is more than willing to answer your prayers than you are more
than serious about your prayers. We can dream and plan about many things that
concerns us but at the end of the day it is what the Lord’s purpose will
prevail.
